This is my first tank from HB and love it. I'm glad I never bought the Panther from other manufacturer. This is the most detail tank I've ever seen.
The figures however are average but they look right for 1/30 scale and do go well with the tank.

Right on trooper! I got all 3 versions myself and are a pride to own. The "Golden Series" Tiger are equally great!

I have Panther #421, as well. It is an outstanding model with one 'but'. I have always been bothered by the very indistinct, washed out, camo paint. It is so lightly applied that my tank appears to be a sort of light gray. There are no such problems with either the HB damaged Panther, which is very distinctively painted, or the HB 'ambush' scheme Jagdpanther I have, which is so well painted that it is my favorite AFV in my collection. Panther #421 would have been a far more impressive model with a better camo job. -- Al

Since this is the only Panther I have from HB, I have nothing to compare it against to. But I have no issue with the "washed out, camo paint", infact I kind of like it this way ^&grin .

I like the way that the camo has been painted in the faded way that it would in the field. I would think, though never asked Ana, that maybe, thats what they were trying to achieve. some paint jobs from others, looks like its just been done two minutes before and, sometimes overtly bright.

The Jagdpanther camo is, as Al says, a lot more defined
Mitch

Yes I like the tone down camo of HB Panther. It looks more natural like it's been out in the field for quite some time. Here are some pics compare to more defined camo of the K&C "Elefant".

I have the same HB Panther and the camo looks darker then in these photos.

Terry
That's interesting, Terry. I was just comparing my Panther to the photos and realizing that mine is lighter than the photos show. Mine is really washed out. The excellent weathering is much more distinct than the camo. The base yellow is much closer to a gray with a light yellow tinge. Don't get me wrong here, I think the Panther is outstanding. I just wish the brown and green had some boldness. As they are, they just are so faded that the overall effect is one of a light gray. The only spot where the brown and green camo have any definition is on the top of the turret. -- Al

As much as I like my HB models I've never cared for the orangey brown they chose for RAL8017.

My limited understanding of RAL 7028 suggests the HB is much closer to the mark than K&C. RAL 7xxx is the 'grey' series & going by Chory's chips, 7028 shouldn't have as much chroma as K&C is using
