First Legion - The American Revolution (1 Viewer)

Looks like another Tremendous Product from First Legion........Amazing Detail..Very hard to resist these....What will the cost be for each figure? Price is not yet listed on the web-site....Definitely considering collecting this line:)

I think Matt said $49.95

By the way these figures are looking really good. I will probably preorder 2 or 4 at first.

I will definitely try to fit these into my toy soldier budget....I am collecting only Stalingrad at the moment.....but this line is hard to pass up....Would like to see a sneak preview of the of the British counterparts in order to plan my purchase strategy for set up of a battle scene.

May is upon us :D. Looking forward to the Rev War pre-order details. I will definately be preordering 5 of the figures; Officer w/sword, drummer boy, NCO w/pike, Flag bearer, and one of the figures w/rifle at the ready. That should make a nice initial dio in Definance to the Crown ;)
Mike

I am with you Mike, anxiously waiting for the preorder. Haven't decided yet which ones I want to get first, but it will probably be most of the 'at the ready' figures and the NCO.

Those are very cool Noah. I am impressed there are so many different ones to choose from. I think they make a most impressive line at one each. That is something I think FL is particularly good about.

Very true. As you alluded too, one of First Legion's best features is thier ability to create such variety in thier releases, but have them be in a coherent group. While many manufacturers may put out a large group of figures for one unit, those figures may not always go together in one scene. IMHO, when you have just a couple of firing figures right next to a couple marching with shouldered arms, it doesn't have the same effect as a First Legion firing line of say 15-20 figures that obviously look like they are all involved in the same activity.

You have my agreement on that Noah. This will be my first FL purchase and this is one of the reasons why I have decided to collect this range.

I was also happy to read in a different thread that the British forces from Bunker Hill shouldn't be far off. Thought it was in a ACW thread, Matt mentioned that the AWI British will be the next thing to be shown between these two ranges. Can't wait to see what FL comes up with. Hopefully some grenadiers!

A teaser pic would certainly be helpful....:D

I read the same post - Bunker Hill British troops next. Grenadiers for sure - British Marines were also used at "the Hill" which I think would really be cool

A picture of a Grenadier Private of the British Marines as he would have appeared in 1775 at the battle of Bunker Hill . . . . . . Mike

Mike, that is what I am talking about! Love Troiani's work too, especially his 'Soldiers of the American Revolution'.

I totally agree, Noah...you make a very good point here....Quantity of figures is not a measure of a release...how well they all fit together is more important to most of us.....First Legion seems to understand this well

Conte was suppose to do a vignette of Troiani's Cowpens over 10 years ago.Believe it or not it is still on Conte's website as coming soon!I love Troiani's work also.

I don't know any other company where the owner is taking the time to answer your emails in person ! Of course, being a "smaller" player has some clear advantages and I like a lot the way they deal directly with us, customers. It means more soldiers for less money in our pockets and more importantly, it gives us the ability to give directly positive (or negative) feedback.

I've just placed my 1st order of 1st legion guys and I'm thrilled !

Cheers,

Alex

Matt,

Any projection on how frequently you will release AWI figures? Thanks.

I dont know what you collect as far as First Legion goes, but I promise you this, you will not be disappointed, once I recieved my first couple sets of WWII guys, I knew I hadn't made mistake by collecting FL, so welcome aboard the First Legion train, hope your in it for the long haul, get it:)...Sammy

I collect AWI and WWII but mostly Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. I have collected K&C for years but am looking for a competitor that will take collecting to the next level.

Roughrider, if you want to see some WWII collectables at the next level, try a few First Legion sets, you'll see what I mean as soon as you open the box...Sammy

Do you know if First legion is planning a Normandy line or Battle of the Bulge line?

Hi Rider,
in my conversations with Matt, (WWII DISCUSSIONS) he said he would like to finish a campaign completely (Stalingrad now) before venturing off to the next campaign, now how long the timeline is for Stalingrad I could not tell you, but we collectors did get a suprise a couple weeks ago when First Legion released a recon Africa corps vehicle, so ....I guess we will have to wait and see, but Matt did say he plans on doing alot with WWII, and I am sure Normandy (my personal favorite Matt) as well as the bulge series would be done at some point, but take a look at the Stalingrad line for now, I myself recently changed over from K&C to First Legion, for different reasons of my own, but am truly happy with the WWII line so far, shoot me a PM if you have any questions...Sammy
