Well if you haven't heard First Legion is coming out with thier own line of WWII products and I must say the two german soldiers they put on thier website look really sharp!! and I'm defintely looking forward to checking them out, I may have a First Legion diorama in the future, but what amazes me is the posts that have gone on and on about the guys that are selling thier K&C stuff to but the new F.L. stuff like they are pissed at K&C for some reason??? K&C will always be my no.1 collection and I find no reason to throw any manufacturer under the bus just because I might collect a different line, I may be a "ra-ra" King&Country guy, but I like to think I can collect any stuff from any manufacturer and not be nasty about it. congrats to both F.L. and K&C and all of the other guys making soldiers, I may not collect from all the manufacturers but I love them all for being involved in the coolest hobby around...Sammy

Why does it have to be any mfg. vs any other mfg. Those members who start the my guy is better than your guy posts are only trolling and already know the trouble, they always intended to start in the first place. For years, I have watched a notable toy train forum near tear itself apart with the neverending Lionel is better than Mikes Train House threads. In all cases it is the same members who start each verbal ruckus..Only, when the forum owners started to take names and cancel the bad boys tickets, has peace slowly started to come back to the toy train discussions..Michael

Hey, mth make far better trains than lionel. That aside i think we should all be grateful for all the great products made by these companies and give thanks that they are still around.because when they go by the wayside it hurts, i can testify to that as a trophy collector. So i hope everybody lightens up and buy what you like and let the market decide who is better.

When I used to collect trains, I liked both although I guess I favored Lionel although the MTH locos were up there and I had them too. What's the conventional wisdom on who's number 1 in that category. Some of those locos were pretty amazing. Maybe one someone could put a computer in one of these tanks one day. That would be neat, but a budget buster.

I apoligize for the Ra Ra stuff I didn't mean to hurt anyone.I was just upset because it was inferred that someone put me up to it.NO ONE tells me what to say. I'm a ra ra guy myself when I see something I like.I like the FL 90mm Saladin figure so much That I told a Figure painter forum about it.Some jokingly ask if I was an agent for FL.Even Matt joined but I did it just to let the excellent painters on this forum know about this product because a lot of them do Crusader figures.I should of let it go last night but it just baffles me that there seems to be an underlying layer of resentment towards KC. Everybody has a right to to like what they want and if something new comes along that anybody wants go for it.Is FL quality better than KC ?probably but that doesn't take away the fact that KC does quality figures too.By the way I am a Jenkins,Conte (who!) and historical miniature collector.I don't collect KC or FL, not because of quality or cost but I just don't collect the ranges that they have.Everyone have a good day.

Before this thread goes in a way that we can predict where it will go, let's keep it civil and toned down. The WWII guys all collect a bunch of different companies (K & C, Figarti, HB) so there's no reason to get crazy. I'm looking forward to what FL is going to put out (despite my earlier post) so let's enjoy the diversity that every company brings to the table.

I often wonder why would anyone go to the K/C forum and post about a competitor or why would someone post on the C/S or F/L forums about K/C...I have always felt that it was not good form to insult any mfg. who actually participates, by throwing up another companies name, product etc. in his face, on a forum dedicated to his line..I get uncomfortable as I imagine they do..If you mostly collect K/C, feel free to extoll their virtues here, and if you collect other guys, then go there...Even gangs have territorial boundaries:DMichael

Brad,
I love to see any new releases from everybody.I think it's fun to see the new stuff.

This issue is like Groundhog Day. We can't escape it. Let's see the FL WWII figures before we declare them the end all. There are many things I like about their Naps and some that I don't. There are a number of members who rightly or wrongly have issues with Andy. That seems to play into this debate. Not a criticism of them or Andy. It just appears to be a personality conflict that fuels some of the negative tone of the discussion.

That depends Brad. Every year computers get smaller, smarter and cheaper. Never say never mate.;):D

I don't know Sammy but I didn't see much of what you describe. Honestly it was a FL thread about an uncoming FL new product line that others, including K&C produce. I could care less about WWII but I wish FL well, as I do any other manufacturer that producers great product. If buying something new means you have to sell some of what you have, what's wrong with that? We all have the right to make those choices and announce them for that matter. I do agree there is nothing wrong with doing it politely which I think most people did. More great product, whatever the source, is something to appreciate after all, is it not?

Very true, before I venture to much I will wait until I see the FL WWII figures in person. Which may be difficult considering I don't know of any FL dealers in Australia or even guys like George/Warrior displaying their figures at TS shows, not that we have any TS shows downunder.

I,d also have to agree with combat , a lot of these debates I think have
More to do with personality clashes etc than the products.
It’s a bit like school yard fight it always brings out a big crowd.

Can you post pictures of the WWII Germans. I could only find a picture on their main page and it didn't show the whole figure. When is FL suppose to release their 1st WWII set?

I agree about the proper respect due to a manufacturer on their thread of a forum. It is just bad form to jump on this thread and put down King & Country products - to even some whacked out score or hurt feelings from those who feel they need to be loved

For my part - I believe that we should look at all the merits - pluses and minuses of each release and discuss them. Talk about what K&C produces and what we like or dislike. But, for a few - thats not good enough - we have to personalize the issue.

Well, I believe King & Country is top notch and I keep those comments here on the K&C thread. Other may feel that First Legion is the best and thats why we have a First legion thread.

I personally like First Legion figures as well and have some in my collection. I wish FL all the best. But, we should focus on King & Country here and not market First Legion or settle old scores in this part of the forum against K&C. IMHO. ;)

I really don't think you upset anyone Mark, and as i said on the other thread there is nothing wrong with being ra ra if you love a certain brand. Its only a problem if people take it too far and insult people who buy other products. As Michael and Ron have said its bad form to go on to a producers thread and bad mouth them.We should also expect to see fans of K&C here and fans of FL over there, thats why they have seperate threads.I agree with Sammy on a point he made,i like the look of FL figures from what i've seen and i could be tempted to buy some, but after years of collecting and spending thousands of pounds there is no way i would dump my K&C collection. However if thats what some decide to do that is their choice. Thanks to a previous generation who got rid of Wittman,Rommel and co, we live in a free world and have free choice do do as we please.....if the wife agree's;):D

Harry,do you still collect K&C Crimean range?.I sense (to put it mildly;))in recent months you are less enamored with King and Country, was just wondering if you still collect the Scottish figures from this excellent range.

First Legion vs K&C, in some sense its really like compairing apples to oranges. Generally the more expensive the piece the better the quality. I started with matchbox plastics, then upgraded to Airfix, then to Britains Deetails, then Corgi, then FOV, then K&C then........well you get the picture. Every leap in price my expectations grew. I'd love to collect those expensive Russian figures and K&C warbirds etc but that's not my reality. I find K&C to be a nice blend of quality and price. If K&C became way more expensive then I'd expect their quality to improve unfortunately I would probably not be a buyer anymore. :(
