can open, worms everywhere..............

LOL! Very funny indeed! But seriously, you can't go wrong with either one! They are both fantastic and are unique in their own ways. It's nice to have such awesome creations to choose from :)!

There speaks the voice of reason.:)

By the end of this week we may have great new releases from K&C and the new WW2 range from FL,we can't lose!;)

Rob

i don't quite understand why this argument started.

if the half guessing by other members are right, FL's first ww2 figures will be on the eastern front of the conflict.

now, wasn't Andy reluctant to produce this line further, despite much request from members, with the quote credited to him "Eastern Front doesn't sell"?

so from a pro K&C point of view, isn't this great?

because in theory, a rival manufacturer is digging his own downfall by selling more expensive figures for a line Andy thought would not sell.

K&C will be proven supremely right that the collectors do not care too strongly about scale issues and historical accuracy, as long the price and the products are in some sort of tandem ratio.

as far as i'm concerned, the ball is strictly in FL's fans court to prove Andy's theory wrong, so why should K&C backers get worked up?

sincerely.

i would only bother you up when somebody requests something extraordinarily silly... like a king tiger in stalingrad! ;)
Ah OK; well not being a WWII ground collector I had to look that one up. So this regal fellow shouldn't be in Stalingrad?;)

So here is a question, will FL's new buildings work size wise with K&C?.I thought the Russian huts/houses look good and would be great in a dio with K&C's SS Troops.

Rob

i guess so rob, but i hope somebody will release russian huts in winter facade.

that would be marvelous.

haha..

i wouldn't know that..

maybe the germans in their doomed desperation, were literally using real tigers to repel the besieging russians. :p

what i know is that if i was this german chap here then, i won't ask for ice cream anytime soon.

Well if you haven't heard First Legion is coming out with thier own line of WWII products and I must say the two german soldiers they put on thier website look really sharp!! and I'm defintely looking forward to checking them out, I may have a First Legion diorama in the future, but what amazes me is the posts that have gone on and on about the guys that are selling thier K&C stuff to but the new F.L. stuff like they are pissed at K&C for some reason??? K&C will always be my no.1 collection and I find no reason to throw any manufacturer under the bus just because I might collect a different line, I may be a "ra-ra" King&Country guy, but I like to think I can collect any stuff from any manufacturer and not be nasty about it. congrats to both F.L. and K&C and all of the other guys making soldiers, I may not collect from all the manufacturers but I love them all for being involved in the coolest hobby around...Sammy

I suspect K & C will also always be my No 1 collection, and like you I also buy models and figures produced by other manufacturers.

There are a lot of passionate manufacturers and collectors in this hobby (including myself) and I guess sometimes we go overboard with our opinions and the rationale behind them.

There have been several new manufacturers enter the World War Two section of this hobby since I have been on this forum. And for a while each newcomer was the latest thing - until the dust settled and the established manufacturers proved that the competition is tough. However I feel there is enough variance in collector "wants" to ensure a niche market for those that want to make something different. Of course the hard part is to guess which is the best niche and it will interesting to see how the dice fall on this latest venture.

Yes, it should indeed be interesting to see what niche the established manufactuers carve out for themselves. Competition is not only tough to the newcomer.

I suspect the majority of collectors do, I guess it was all the looting, raping and murdering that went on.

All war involves rape, looting and murder. That's why it's called war :p

When you have read enough about the Eastern Front you will understand that the extent and intensity of the looting, raping and murdering exceeded all wars before and since :p

You name it I've read it.

There's never been another war of that scale before or since.

In all your readings about the Eastern Front didn't it occur to you that the crimes against the non-combatants was indeed depressing.

Welcome to modern war, a view of true hell.

The more terrifying, the bigger the consequence.

Depressing...c'mon ...It involved more land combat than all other World War II theatres combined.More people fought and died on the Eastern Front than in all other theatres of World War II combined.Operation Barbarossa, Stalingrad, The Battle of Kursk, historys largest armored battle, cost Hitler over 500,000 troops and 1,000 tanks,Operation Bagration, Battle of Berlin are just a few of the battles. It was the front that chewed up the german war machine

The quantity is surely impressive.

However, I find the quality of both sides in that theatre sadly lacking. Btw, I am referring to the quality (integrity) of the combatants on the Eastern Front rather than the quality of their equipment.

Don't forget that both sides in that conflict not only turned a blind eye, they often condoned the behavior of their troops against the non-combatants as well as the opposing army. A depressing period for humanity imo.

I've read Armageddon by Max Hastings,Berlin and Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor and they do paint a relentlessly grim picture of the fighting between these two armies. All war is terrible of course, but somehow the hatred between these two nations caused truly horrendous acts of brutality on a huge and regular basis.I guess this horrible theatre of the War does not get enough exposure/justice?.Maybe its just too brutal for us to get to grips with, whatever it is the Russians played a huge role in the final victory.
