At the Chicago OSTN show I was extremely impressed by the plans and vision for the new W. Britian range, Clash of Empires. From FIW frontier conflict sets through the late 18th century and very early 19th century European struggle for dominance in the "Norhtwest Territory", this range will offer many early American history choices to choose from. The first prototype figures of the range are of Eastern Woodland warriors and they are amazing looking. Earlier I decided to pass on the three Iroquois warriors that were released earlier this year because I didn't colelct AWI and was not sure how the theme would be expanded upon. Although released under the AWI range, native american dress did not change a great deal from 1754 to 1794 and so these figures will work quite well in a FIW setting. These three figures were the only purchases I made at the show . . . . the least expensive show I have ever had . . . . but well worth the enjoyment I have already got from them. Below are WB stock photos of the three plus two photos of a small vignette I quickly put together this morning.

Thanks Jeff

Those are quite nice. The Britains faces are getting better and better.

Thank you. In my opinion the new 2013 WB releases are the best sculpts ever.

Good for you Mark. Below are WB Stock photos of the three new Woodland warriors that will soon be released. Also some photos of prototypes taken from the current Standard, Volume 2, No. 39, August 2013, page 3. This Standard introduces the Clashes of Empires range.

KEN OSEN being scalped by a Eastern Woodland warrior re-enactor and the prototype model that was created from the results of the photo session. This shows the extent of the research and accuracy that WB and Ken Osen puts into their sculpts.

Great Indians, I really like this range. Indian Summer weather now here by the way...

I hope they have a lot of hand to hand sets in this range.

Mike...

those are some good looking Iroquois...I know you don't collect JJD anymore...but any guess how they match up to his FIW Indians?

Michael, its been so long ago since I had the JJD woodland indians its hard for me to say how these match up with them. Its my perception that they seem to be slimmer in appearnace . . . As far as heigth, I don't know.
Mike

I think they would match up pretty well height wise but are probably slimmer like Mike says.

Hello all,
The new fall/winter catalog is finished and will be mailed in just over two weeks. Look for several additions to this range with more planned in 2014!
Great photography Mike!
All the best,
Ken
