:D:D I believe George is referring to an episode of Seinfeld where, the character ironically named George, is talking about cars and mentions a "Johnson rod"- it is a fictious part of a car. The dialogue is centered around mechanics taking advantage of people who do not know anything about cars.

CC gets the square. :p

This is why I love this guy; he can talk military history, sports and Seinfeld episodes, talk about a jack of all trades.

He is correct..........thanks for being my wingman, would hate to have this one hanging out there like a Matza ball.......;)

IIf you like it buy it.....The Giants aren't done just yet:rolleyes:..Playoffs?? Playoffs??:D.I just hope Coughlin is not made the scapegoat for that shameful display....they better return to a ball control offense....Merry Christmas to All

Ok, Frank whatever you say, we'll see down the road who's right and who's wrong on this one, I'll say I'll be right and you'll be wrong.

BBG 035, 039, WS 177 and 195 will fetch big coin down the road, like it or not.

K & C still brings a very nice return in the secondary market, it just depends on what you have.

I can vouch for this first hand, sold off a very large K & C WWII collection within four months of buying it, also sold off a very large AWI and Napoleonics collection as well virtually overnight, no problem getting my prices on any of the items, so stew on that awhile.

And speaking of meltdowns, as I watched the Giants game last Sunday, I felt so bad for Louis, he's a diehard Giants fan..............till I remembered you are one too, which quickly brought a smile to my face.........Coughlin and his Marine Corps DI act is SO old and tired.

However, he gets a 9.5 for his coaches book spike in the background as the Philly punt returner raced by him 200 MPH, now THAT was comical, been on sportscenter 4,657 times the past three days.....................

I have to say that I rather enjoyed the interaction with Vezzolf over this set and the alternate arguments which, were civil and interesting its taken a rather strange twist where its pops for the sake of and has somewhat tarnished the interest of looking at the set.

Some may get the prices for older sets whilst some don't not everything sells for a profit and there have been several recent threads about the fact that you take a loss on some K&C. So, you pays your money and takes ya chance.

The whole reason behind the thread was just to say how good this set was and, contrary to a number of posters doubts about cost etc its a real good release. Can't say I am really too bothered whether this set sells for huge money or under retail its just a good set IMO

Merry Christmas guys
Mitch

"Everybody out there grabbing; grab, grab, grab, grab, grab"..............wouldn't want to get on Vince's bad side, pretty sure that would have not ended well........ok, let's get back to talking about the 88 instead of American football, Mitch is liable to get upset............

Yes, A great Lombardi moment regarding tackleing.....Thank God He was not around to see that game:D:D LOL....

The NFL Network is showing a replay of the game right now in case anyone missed it, watch for Coughlin at the 59 minute 56 second mark, it's classic...................

I am not buying the flak gun if it does not have the Johnson Rod. I can overlook minor inaccuracies but not a missing Johnson Rod.

The Johnson rod is not standard equipment for an 88 - the gunners had to bring their own and make sure it never got frozen in use in the bitter cold of the Eastern Front or at the Bulge.

Just as long as the rod was on the right side of the 88mm gun, all is well in toy soldierland.................

But it has to be a 1943 edition Johnson Rod. Many manufacturers to save costs try and slip in the earlier edition 1939 Rod as it is a much simpler design.

Guys, I'm pretty sure the Johnson rod is a part that comes from the 1941 Johnson rifle, the rifle that was produced to compete for the semi-auto rifle contract and lost out to the Garand in the long run.:p;) -- Al
