Temp here just south west of chicago with wind chill is - 40
It is friggin brutally cold !!
On a bright note if anybody has seen my post on another thread, I got my TGM Winter Hetzer delivered to me today from TreeFrog...It is appropriate !

Hitting the rack at 12:26 am, temp sitting at 7f, wind chill at -14f. Glad I don't have to work in this weather anymore.{sm3} -- Al

It's going down to -41 C tonite. There is a 30 - 40 mph wind from the north and have hade two ice quakes here tonite. No warm up until Friday. lucky we have global warming or no telling how cold it could get. ^&grin The legend here is that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup when hell freezes over - this could be the year. ^&grin

Seriously though, isn't the weather in this world crazy! The poor buggers in the US (UK and Europe have gone through a rough patch as well) are freezing there toes off in -40 odd temperatures while here in Oz it's the reverse and we are sweltering in +38 to +48 odd temperatures!

Up at 7:30 am and temp is reported as 0f (zero) with wc of -16f. I still have no intention of going outside. I think Terry is correct. Hell is freezing over. -- Al

I just got off the phone with a friend in Minnesota. He said that since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high and is still falling!! The temperature has dropped to 10F below zero and the north wind is increasing. His wife has done nothing but stare through the kitchen window all day. He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in.

Okay, it's an old joke ..... but it seems to fit current weather conditions.

It was over 50 degrees yesterday, then dropped overnight to 4 degrees here, with a brutal wind chill, and the weather report indicated it would be up to 50 degrees again by the weekend. Flat out bizarre weather.^&confuse

Wow was it cold here today -41 Celsius with the wind chill !!! Cars wouldn't start, multiple accidents on our main highway, just a mess. On the plus side by Saturday it should be up to 6 Celsius.
