It is a rainy day here in Ontario also Mike. I don;t have the luxury of playtime though as I am stuck in the office.

Thanks for these photos to brighten the day. They look really good and can't wait to see them flesh out as other figures are released and you add them to your collection.

Love these photos mixing the other figures in together Mike. You are going to end up with a really impressive Iron Brigade collection when the rest of these new sets arrive.

Mike, Very nice setup and photos. I really like how you got the firing line figures to work well with the charging figures. I'm always a little stumped on how to display a regiment when half of the figures are standing and the other half are running.

Great setup Mike.Do you plan to do any large scale dioramas with large amount of troops on each side?
Mark

I did not buy this set because I already have so many Iron Brigade figures and the cost (so much else on my list), but I love those flag bearers - almost made me buy the set (just for those). You have a nice setup. Thanks for the photos.

Darn. Now that I see the knapsacks even have 2nd Wisconsin on them, I might just have to give in!!!!

Thank you everybody; Scott, Walt, Titus, MD, Dragoon, Mark, and 6th WI. Glad you all liked the photos . . . . . . Mike

I try to set the firing line up as if they were the skirmishers that were sent out ahead of the rest of their regiment - this was done a lot.

I have in the past set up large amounts of troops and I plan to do the same in the future - nothing on a permanent basis though. I like to move my troops around too much.

When I was an ACW re-enactor in the 2nd Wisconsin, I had stenciled on my backpack "K Co./2nd Wis" - many examples of unit stenciling on various pieces of equipment are shown in the Time/Life Triology "Echoes of Glory" which I have a set of. Keep in mind that #31051 is a limited edition of only 500 sets, so if you think you might want one I would not procrastinate on making a decision.

I have those books too. I won't wait long, but I just invested a bunch in the Conte Zouaves (pre-order), the Britains medical series and barn, and now with all the other great CW stuff coming from First Legion and so many manufacturers - I may just have to give up WWII again!!!!

Mike mate,
They are some of the best dio photos I have seen of the Iron Brigade. Great dio and photos. Planning something along those lines myself but with Buford's dismounted Cavalry behind split rails at the front. As an old Cavalry Officer (Armoured) I am a great fan of John Buford. Could you please post some more photos of the Buildings in the rear. Have some on order but they look fantastic in your dio. Keep up the great work.
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

You also said you liked the look of the flags. I forgot to show the other side of the regimental flag from set #31051. Here's both the obverse and reverse sides of the flag, which by the way is "dead-on" accurate historically . . . Mike

You're killing me with this Mike. I have had this logical argument with myself long ago to the effect that I already have a nice little group of Iron Bde. guys and I don't need these big new sets, and so on and so forth.....:(

The flags and the officer figures especially are starting to mess with my resolve. :p

Howard - If you would like to see more photos of the buildings I am using (all WB scenics) I would invite you to see my ACW photo album. Just click on my name next to my Avatar picture, then click on VIEW PUBLIC PROFILE, then scroll down the right side of the screen and click on MY AMERICAN CIVIL WAR COLLECTION - there you will find three pages of photos of my collection. By the way - my dio bases were custom made for me by Ken Osen of Hudson & Allen Studio

Great set of pictures Mike and yes, you guessed it, we've got a rainy and cold start to the Weekend over here in the UK too:(

Cheers

Martyn:)

These look great, I'm looking in the mail for mine. What is the red circle on some of the Hardee Hats? Is that a Corps Insignia?

That is the 1st Corps, 1st Division insignia. The color signified division, while the shape was for the corps.

I'm sure glad it rained yesterday at your end and spent the day setting up an sharing your new sets and figures Mike. I knew you would go to bed without posting the first batch of photos the day you the sets arrived. Thanks for the time and effort spent sharing them with us and there's no doubt it you enjoyed it as much as we did seeing the end results......The Lt.
