French 2nd Carabiniers Cavalry Regiment (1 Viewer)

Though it may not seem it to those who collect figures from other companies, we keep our prices extremely low for the quality we provide. I really can't stress this enough. Anyone here who has any of our figures will tell you that they are very attractively priced for what you get. We don't run on NEARLY the same product cost to final retail price multiples that other companies run on. This is the primary reason we mostly sell direct. If we do things like free shipping on $250 orders and the shipping to Australia is $40-$50, we're essentially losing 20% of the sale. We can't do this as general policy and stay in business very long, our figures cost too much to produce and are already attractively priced. The alternative would be to offer free shipping and raise prices by 20%. I can't imagine that would be very popular nor is it fair to those who live near where the figures are warehoused.

I will say this, where it really isn't fair is to the collector who buys 1 or 2 figures a time. In this instance, the shipping costs to a place like Australia are a killer. It's not so bad at all when buying in volumes of 10-20 figure at a time. But there really isn't much to be done about it unfortunately.

Best,

Matt

Cheers Matt for explaining that i will just have to buy the whole Stalingrad collection at once.......:):D

I have always thought these figures were beautiful.

Great poses and excellent painting.

FL has truly raised the artistic standard of toy soldiers. With this kind of quality I can see the demise of the historical figure kits that some of us get and get painted to a high standard.

WOW ! You are reading my mind ! Of course that goes for this scale , Larger Bust and Figures can run in the $500++ range for a true show quality Figure. I think what First Legion are doing is unparalleled . Although the Prices are starting to climb I think about 30 % from first releases . Of course that that is not taking into consideration the always improving sculpting and painting. Still in my humble opinion First Legion are a GREAT value. ;)

By the time I buy a kit which can be anywhere between $25-$40 and then get it painted it can cost between $90-$130 so with the quality standards of FL and with CS and Britains starting to produce higher quality painting a figure is cheaper if I buy it from them.I just have to wait until one of them start a FIW range;);).

Agreed , when talking about Figures in the $500.+Range I was referring to Figures that are painted by Masters and entered in International Competition ( which you can buy direct from them ). I think its Great that other companies are starting to offer better quality Figures . I know that if I was working at some of the other Companies I would be a little nervous . I think FL is about to release a new range so maybe it will be FIW ;) ;)?

Yes,I know what you mean.I'm talking about one 54mm foot figure. When you start talking about vignettes, mounted figures and larger figures and busts your talking money. My most expensive piece is a viking vignette with 12 figures and part of a viking ship.It costs over $1600.No way could I do that now.

That sounds Great would love to see photos . My next big purchase will be all First Legion buildings & Figures in my quest to recreate the Fantastic diorama of the struggle between the Prussian Line and the old guard for Planceniot. I figure that will run with the buildings and fence $550. and the between 50 and 55 figures another $2750. I think that will break my bank for awhile. But hey it will be worth it to have a almost perfect recreation of the Great painting from Adolf Northern. Cheers .

I don't have a digital camera but you can see it at www.histomin.com. If you go to that site click on historical period, then dark ages, click el viejo dragon and scan down that page.I also have a 3 figure vignette on the Pegaso dark age page.PG5v18 is the code for that one.I also have PG5146 but not the one shown.Sorry for straying Spit.Won't do it no more on this thread.:):)Some of these companies have some beautiful Napoleanic vignettes.

These just have to be the best figures available on the market today for the quality and price. Really, really nice! :)

Jeff

Now, how did I just know that you were going to LOVE these Jeff?

Thanks a bundle First Commissar - you've just thrown a dirty great spanner into my carefully planned collecting strategy for the next 4 months.

Something is going to have to go down the list of priorities to make way for these.
Samurai - maybe.
The next must-have green/grey/brown tank - maybe.
Or, wait a minute, a different company's mounted figures from 1917...!!! Yeah, they can go back a bit in the queue. Probably won't be near as good as the pictures of THE MASTERS anyway. They're earmarked as targets for the pellet gun in any case.

Happy Again
Heid

Mister H,

I would drop the Nr 3 as well...the samurais are a MUST as is this horrendously expensive STUG...and then these Carabiniers..hmmhmm

So yes, the Nr 3 has to be dropped :D

....
Yes, these have much promise of changing priorities and challenging budgets. As far as I know only one detachment fought in Spain but they are too nice to pass up. Just wait until he drops the Cuirassiers on us.;)

My wife is really giving me dirty looks now! They are too good to pass up though.

Re: French 2nd Carabiniers Cavalry Regiment - Pre-Order Update?

Matt, since you recently were talking about new pre-orders of other items, is there an update on the pre-order for the Carabiniers?
