French Foreign Legion (Pictures). (1 Viewer)

Nice figures - and I will buy some, of course, I'm French! - but can't understand why French officer had a German pistol!?!

They could be fighting the Germans on the Western Front in 1914, becasue many colonial units came back to France at that time wearing thier only uniforms, including Zouarves in red pantaloons and blue vests!!!

Now that WOULD be colouful ???

John

You'd have to remove the white neck shield and paint the kepi cover blue for western front.

Martin

at last a TS manufacturer considering the Foreign Legion figures. The new figures are very attractive and I am very interested into, I wish providing a FFL garrison to my Sahara Fort.
Just a doubt! Usually I've seen the legionaries wearing the boots and their white pants tucked into them.

Judging from the interest in these FFL, someone may have to get into Tom's ear and suggest it might advantageous to all if he considers increasing the limited number on these so not too many collectors will miss out. Some of these sets lend themselves to multiples as well. Cheers, Robin.

French 1914 uniforms were very colorful. The FFL on the Western front wore the same uniform as the regular infantry, blue great coat, with red trousers. The kepi would have had blue cloth cover. The TGM FFL figures would require repainting and, as mentioned, getting rid of the neck cover. -- Al

Forgot to mention that the 1938 Walther in the officer's hand would have to be changed to a revolver or maybe a sword. -- Al

Anybody know or heard anything as to when these will be released? Last I heard was mid February. Any guesses?

My guess based on the past years, they were due to be announced in the first week of Febuary and with a 3 week delivery, end of Feb. Seems from the start of this year TG are behind the 8 ball to get things back up to speed. Also with the recent Chinese holiday, it is well known many factory workers return to their villages and do not return. Best bet now first week March, delivery end of. Maybe we should start a betting pool on expected release date, my money is on March. {sm4}, cheers, Robin.

Anyone know if there has been an update for these guys????

Tom said they will be at the London show this Saturday, so I presume March will be the release month ? ( could be wrong though))

Dealer shipments are going out this week, I expect my stock to arrive late this week, early next week.

I am just about sold out on these, so contact your dealer of choice to make sure you get these sets, they will not be around very long.

I ordered directly form TG-UK and my sets will be arriving in the US by this Thursday. For those of you seeking the FFL sets consider ordering directly from the source. For orders in excess of $150 you receive a free club figure, really nice touch.

Crikey Robin, your buildings are endless! Forget about a shed, you need a warehouse!

Another goody mate.

Hi Martin,

Agree, or just buy Scalelink sets and assemble them......they are supplied with Western front kepis....
Cheers

Dear Friends,
These are not Thomas Gunn, but I thought of posting them here to give us FFL fans ideas that could be future TGM projects.....For years I have been looking for French Foreign Legion sets to add to my collection.....and for years I had to drop the project, either because all that I could reach out to were nicely sculpted Legionnaires marching - as in March or Die - or they were playing instruments in a band......nothing against that at all, but I wanted some action;)^&grin:eek:{sm4}{sm0}

If you enjoy FFL and wish to share pictures I have opened a group for that, free to all manufacturers, styles and periods.....A great fighting force such as the Legion needed such a special place so feel free to join and add your pictures and ideas....

I am absolutely loving this series...

thank you Tommy Gunn...thank you Blake and thank you Andy...

I am now ready for some Tauregs...

most of the Arabic figures (all but 2) in this photo are K&C's...they also are splendid and size up pretty nicely with the TG's...
