Mestell asked for a size comparison of French Indian War Figures --- so John Jenkins, Thomas Gunn and the colonial militia from First Legion. I could be wrong, but the Thomas Gunn figures might have been crafted slightly smaller than normal Thomas Gunn at the specific request of the museum sponsoring the pieces.

Top Photo Arranged in Alphabetical Order: Britains, First Legion, Frontline, John Jenkins, K &C, and Thomas Gunn. Those white clad French were a very snazzy release by Frontline. The lower photos in the thread were a direct response to Mestell's question, added the other manufacturer's so not to offend anyone.

Jenkins and Gunn seem to match up well. The FL militia seem smaller/slimmer.My FL and Britains indians match up well.

I am very surprised how well the TG ones hold up. Disappointed the WB figures do not complement FL in my opinion.

That indian is from the revolution range.I think the ones from CoE range is better.I have FL and Britains and think they match up pretty well.

one side note on this pic...

and Ken or somebody else might back me up...

the JJD figure is from the Jacobite Rebellion...JJD BJ-01...

and it has always been my opinion that these were the largest figures John ever made...

just my opinion...as I have owned a lot of them...

but another JJD figure might be a better example...

if you look at this JJD figure...JJDCLUB2015A...

I think it's a better representation of John's overall scale size for the 7 Years War...

I have always thought the British Barrel's figures from Culloden...were larger than his other FIW/7 Years War figures that I collect...

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Some very useful information here which is hard to get anywhere else(for me anyway). Thanks again.

Well, in my opinion, for what it's worth, looking at these pictures, it looks like none of the different manufacturers fit in with any other.

Pete

Thanks Ken, it's always informative seeing comparisons when thinking about blending various manufacturers. In my opinion, they all look like the general population. When I walk down the street, I see all shapes and sizes.

I believe threads and posts of this nature should be in it's own section. Comparisons of various mfg. figures and models are requested on a regular basis and IMO ,are invaluable as what to buy reference materials for collector, new and seasoned. No matter the era or subject matter, as long as it is size, scale compare info, stick them in a heading for all to see. Beats trying to search machine them, months, years later. .Michael
