Do any of my fellow ACW brothers here on the forum collect these figures? I notice the "subforum" for Frontline never has many posts so I thought I would ask here under the "General Matte." I do not have any of these figures but I am not sure what it is about them but they catch my eye a lot.

These are very nice figures..well painted and sculpted, and many to choose from. They are not as expensive as King and Country but still are very nice looking figures. hope this helps

They never did much for me. They actually remind me more of Trophy (which I collect) but in matte, without the glossy charm. The Frontline way of sculpting works better for me in glossy than matte. Just my personal opinion. No insult intended to those who collect Frontline.

Hi Brad

Do you think they might benefit from Konrads magic touch?

Cheers

Martyn:)

I have never seen Frontline figures in person. What I have seen is the figures from an other distributer. It seems they are limited to what they offer. To Me best selections for the ACW are Britians and First Legion. Again to Me these companies have the most to select from for the ACW and our host carries both companies. Welcome to the forum and the hobby. There are alot of great collectors on the forum and alot of help from all. Mr Colt 45:):):)

I have eight sets of Frontline condererates.
They look great to me.

Hi Martyn.
Funny that you mention that ^&grin
Got a Frontline ACW set on my workbench for this weekend.
I am positive that they will look splendid in a gloss finish.
Fine sculpted figures.
Very curious to find out how they will come out in a gloss finish :wink2: :smile2:

Frontline has a vast amount of ACW. Many regiments and very creative sets; navy sets, forge sets all kinds of artillery. They have been surpassed by a few other companies in style but are still better than others. Very compatible in size to Britain's ACW. They are a terrific value at approx. $18.00 a figure in sets. If you like the way they look you will not be disappointed. If you ask around at various dealers you will find many unlisted sets. Don't worry if they do not appeal to other collectors unless they are buying for you{sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

Well said....I have only seen Frontline on their site but they look good...if I was a serious collector I would buy what appealed to me...not follow the general trend....cheers TomB

Nothing wrong with Frontline figures. I have a few examples of their ACW, FIW and Napoleonic matte figures. They are of a different style but I like them!

Years ago I collected Frontline ACW, Crimean War, Napoleonics and Colonial Classics. Their figures were very competitively priced, robust and well painted. However, as other makers such as K&C, WB, TCS, JJD and FL evolved I felt they were superior in sculpting, poses and painting. Frontline figures are a good value but I find them chunkier and stiffer in their poses than the other makers. Recently I bought some of their SYW Prussians thinking they might go well with the new JJD Prussians. They are much larger and chunkier so I probably will not add any additional figures from them.
It comes down to a matter of taste.....we have many different opinions and collector preferences on this forum. I will say again that they are priced very well and the figures stand up to handling and the occasional "fall" very well.

I like these shots a lot, specifically the first one, very well staged and set up, look great; the figures look great to me, I think Frontline figures have a lot of character.

They do but the horses need a lot of work. Some of the WWI horses came out better. But those are not ACW. Did I mention the Bands? They did a great series of Band figures but also some looters/plunderers.

The Frontline figures are very well painted, in depth layered look.Nice highlighting. I have several ACW Artillery sets, some Union Cavalry and a couple Rebel infantry. All good, a bit of a different style but I like them.
I have probably 500+ of their Napoleonic , all arms, for British and French/Allies. They are the Backbone of my 54mm collection and very well painted, outlined , shaded and highlighted.

I like Frontline both there ACW and Napoleonics and as others have said nice painting style and great range.

I like 'em too - but would like them even better (to the point of buying some), IF they could supply them as castings to paint myself. They do some very nice bands, I see.:D johnnybach

I have several sets. I prefer the look of Britains and Fl, but one very positive aspect of Frontline is that it has made lots of specific regiments and interesting pieces like signal towers and foragers.
