Future and Forthcoming Warbirds (1 Viewer)

As Louis said, it was just one of a kind. Hopefully, Andy will decide to make one in the future.

A heard that the workshop produced a one of a kind prototype Horsa Glider (a photograph was emailed to a collector friend of mine) for Arnhem, but I don't know if Andy will make a production run (anywhere from 5-20), just sell the single prototype or keep it for K&C's own archives.

The Horsa sure looks like a nice model based on the pic Jazzeum supplied.

Clearly it deserves a higher production run than 20 because it was one of the most popular suggestions when the reintroduction of the K & C Warbirds was mentioned awhile back. A C-47 (Dakota) and "Rommel" Storch were also suggested as being popular sellers.

Time to bring that thread back.

It looks like the Fieseler Storch is already sold out and that there is very limited exemplaries left in respect of the four other models:

AIR039 Henshel HS 123, AIR040 TBM Avenger (President George Bush Version), AIR040A TBM Avenger (USS Bunker Hill) and AIR040B TBM Avenger (Marine Version).

They are due in the forthcoming month.

Pierre.

Even though I dont collect these beauts, Andy needs to make the most produced fighter in history, the Bf 109:) Or Me 109 depending on which nomenclature you prefer.

It's my understanding that everything except for some of the Avengers are gone. Thank goodness I reserved the Hurricane.

Fanny listed the Henshel as still available. If I could knew what is coming next. It is already hard to make choices, now the challenge is greater as the question is also when to purchase one.

Pierre.

Pierre,

You could be right. I didn't hear this direct from K & C but from another buyer of K & C planes. Fanny told him nothing was left.

In a way I'm glad that very little is left so I can't be tempted :) This way I can (hopefully) get one in the third quarter. I am really hoping for something from the Desert but I'm not sure Andy is planning that.

I haven't seen the Henshel except for photos on the web but it looks like a very interesting airplane, well worth the purchase, if still available.

Hi Brad-

Useless to say that I am really tempted but there is so much models Andy can make.

In my opinion, the Warbirds will be harder and harder to get as they will probably be all sold out even before their release. Collectors had the opportunity to see how great they are and that they worth all their pennies so they are now "warmer" to the idea of spending that amount of money on one item.

The Pacific Warbirds having been a success, I will not be surprised if Andy comes back to that theater but, this time, with Japanese fighters and seaplanes. I guess I have to keep my money again, just in case.

Pierre.

Just a comment here guys. But is interesting how things go in our hobby. Pacific warbirds are great sellers, but Pacific everything else languishes.
Interesting
Anyway good luck to all you warbird collectors. They are cool.
Regards
Damian

Speaking of Warbirds, have you Squadron Members seen the new Frontline RAF Dispersal Hut which would be great for your dioramas?

Tally Ho,
Beaufighter

Hey, thanks for the heads-up Bea.
That looks like an interesting piece that would fit into quite a few different setups.

Cheers

Andy confirms that only two Henshels are left so if you want one......

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify, the only Warbirds we currently have available are the Westland Whirlwind VHE, the F6F Hellcat (Minsi III Model), one B-25, and the final Helldiver (Bunker Hill Version). There are several more planes in the works… but that’s a post for another day!

To purchase any of these aircraft please visit www.kingandcountry.com and look under the ‘King & Country Warbirds’ tab in the product catalogue.

Happy Collecting!

Andrew,

I think that's clear to us warbird nuts as Andy had me post the ones that will be coming in the next few weeks and beyond.

I don't want to throw cold water on any of this but I've had these kinds of discussions before with Andy (where we've exchanged lists) as to what he might like to make, which is why it's a rather large list. Assuming he makes all of these (a big if), it may be a couple of years before we see our favorites.

One interesting thing about the want list is that it included the BoB Hawker which is part of the present batch under production which tells me that demand outstripped supply. Would like to see a Desert Spit added to the want list but that's a conversation for another day.

I, myself, would love to see any British Desert plane (even a Desert Hawker which I already have) so I'll leave it at that.

I am just realising that the Focke-Wulf will be a Fw 189 UHU (I thought it was a 190 again). This one is a must-to-have too, especially in a winter camo.

Just for the fun, if we're talking about big, big, big models, I'd like to see Andy producing a Kawanishi H6K Mavis.

Pierre.

I thought posting some of the British planes many of us don't know much about might be interesting. Please note this doesn't mean that this will be what the K & C plane, if they produce them, will look like.

The planes follow the order of Andy's post.

Hi Brad-

The Boulton Paul Defiant is an interesting model and would be my choice in the British planes that Andy might produces.
