Well, even as the dust settles in Chicago, I'm very excited to hear of the upcoming Eastern Front releases.
IMO, this has been a long overlooked part of the WW2 conflict. I'd like and am hoping to see a revisit of the Battle of Stalingrad. Would love to see German Soldiers and vehicles from the earlier part of the Battle before the cold weather sets in. Always nice to see the gear carried, sleeves roll up etc.

The begining of the invasion of Russia would be great as well as. Would also like to see the Waffen SS in the Battle of Kursk.

Anyone's thoughts?:)

I think we are really in the east in all but name of range. We have the Leningrad Tiger 1 we have WSS winter troops with the long warm coats that were really used predominantly by the SS and Gross Deutchsland troops in battles like Kharkove etc. We have WSS early war SS troops in camo smocks with sleeves rolled up that can be used through all the summer months in the Eastern front and, the Dar Reich Tiger 1 for Kursk. To name a few.

The only thing that some seem to want is some russian armour T-34 seems voiced a lot but, a KVI or, KVII would be a better choice some smaller soviet armour would also be welcome. Not sure about revisiting stalingrad the battle for me, is too restrictive on what can be released because of time period in the war. Later battles would be better for collector and manufacturer allowing a greater variety of AFV's to be produced.

If one does not stick rigidly to the catagories K&C place their products one can have quite a good german build up for the east. The missing part is a few sets of russian troops and AFV's once their released the east will be represented.

It won't take too many Russian AFVs and vehicles to represent that side of the Eastern Front. The Russians produced only a few tanks and AFVs in large numbers as opposed to the Germans who produced a wide range of AFVs and many variations and Ausf. of each.

Would like to see an early T-34 along with a T-70 and a KV-1. And surrendering Russians and/or casualties. -- Al

Mitch, I fully agree with your views on this matter. To me its much more of having some extra russians, both soldiers and AFV`s, to have a approach to the eastern front. My choice would be from 1943 on.

The list really is endless.
The amount with of lend lease equipment used by the soviets is breathtaking, quite a few that have been issued by King&Country before ie Sherman,Churchill,Jeeps, universal carrier, plus plenty of items that haven't been seen before?

I would love the following, sorry for repeating myself:redface2:

Russian Heavy Tank JS-2(perfect time since the Figarti one is thin on the ground:(

Russian 203mm Howitzer M1931 B-4

IS-3 Heavy Tan

T-34/76 Medium Tank.

SU-76M Self-propelled Gun.

These sites are well worth a look and are excellent for all members interested in Soviet and German Equipment on the Eastern front.

The lend lease is a good point. Its always strange, well for me, to see crocodile and Matilda's on the russian steps or in russian cities.

It would be quite good to remark up one of these with russian markings and, add some soviet tank crew

Even though theres no room or money for the Eastern Front in my collecting portfolio I'm very much looking forward to seeing what K&C start with in this range. I do own their last T34 and its a superb piece, would love to see a new version with K&C's updated sculpting and realism. We know how good their Germans are but it will also be good to see some new Russian infantry....oh god, I'm talking myself into buying them and their not even out yet..stop me someone!!:wink2:

No stopping the Soviet Juggernaut !!!

IS-3 Heavy Tan

Sadly the IS-3 wasn't used against Germany or Japan. To make things worse, it was a lemon until it got retrofitted in the early 50s. Something about the hull cracking in half due to stress points. Looked great in parades though! {sm4}

Well, anything is possible. If 1941, a T-34 or KV & crew being taken prisoner could tie in well with FOB. If 1942, a winterized T-34 would be a good adversary for the Tiger. Snowy Russian infantry are always cool. 1943 Kharkov or Kursk would tie in well with the SS/Tiger staple crowd. Personally I'd prefer the 1941 option above or snowy Russians on the attack. Here are some AFVs that catch my interest. The two Porshe Tiger I tanks actually saw combat in the war with the Ferdinand unit.

Personally I would just love to see some Soviet infantry (preferably in greatcoats, and armed with rifles instead of sub machine guns, as most Russian soldiers were).
