Future Eastern Front releases. (3 Viewers)

I would like to add my voice to those requesting Soviet troops in winter gear, which would suitably complement K & C's winter German releases over the last few years. As for accompanying vehicles, a T-34/85 would be good (I know K&C have done one before but their level of sculpting has moved on somewhat since). A SU-76 assault gun would also be nice. For further inspiration may I recommend the new book The Soviet Soldier by Philip Rio just published (in English) by Histoire and Collections at£35.00.

i think we are really in the east in all but name of range. We have the leningrad tiger 1 we have wss winter troops with the long warm coats that were really used predominantly by the ss and gross deutchsland troops in battles like kharkove etc. We have wss early war ss troops in camo smocks with sleeves rolled up that can be used through all the summer months in the eastern front and, the dar reich tiger 1 for kursk. To name a few.

The only thing that some seem to want is some russian armour t-34 seems voiced a lot but, a kvi or, kvii would be a better choice some smaller soviet armour would also be welcome. Not sure about revisiting stalingrad the battle for me, is too restrictive on what can be released because of time period in the war. Later battles would be better for collector and manufacturer allowing a greater variety of afv's to be produced.

If one does not stick rigidly to the catagories k&c place their products one can have quite a good german build up for the east. The missing part is a few sets of russian troops and afv's once their released the east will be represented.

hi mitch, i was the one at the treefrog dinner that asked andy about the eastern front. He said he would do it but he said he would do it in a different way that has not been done before. I meant to corner andy at the hotel later that nite but couldn't connect as i had to drive back to iowa that nite. So i am really wondering what he meant. Is it early war, is it crimea, is it partisans, is it winter in murmansk. I guess we will have to see

Hawkeye...

Thanks for that. sounds interesting. The sheer scale of the front and operations means its a wait and see for sure. Plenty of scope to release some superb sets. I look forward to whats brought out in this theatre

in a different way that has not been done before I wonder what that means? Andy has kept aaway from Russian AFVs and figures because they didn't sell well. But he has produced lots of German AFVs that could have been on the Eastern Front and several that were only on the Eastern Front.

So i wonder if Andy has found a way to produce Russians that would reduce the risk of low Russian sales? How about combined sets like Russians trying to attach a mine to a German AFV? Or an anti-tank gun set with a destroyed tank.

Can anyone think of other ways to do it in a different way that has not been done before

I'm guessing that Andy won't touch Stalingrad because of FL, or repeat what he did last time. I'm also guessing that he won't create German stuff because he already makes stuff that can be used there, as Mitch stated. It makes me wonder if we'll even see the T-34/76 that everyone(including myself) desires. However, I really believe a T-34/76 in 2-3 paint schemes would be a surefire home run. Maybe it's partisans, maybe The Winter War, or maybe it will just be Russian prisoners and a destroyed Soviet tank. We'll see I guess....

I'm somewhat confused. Why would K&C not want to revisit Stalingrad? There's alot of ground that could be covered that wasn't on their last go around. Just because a competing company covers that battle, doesn't mean K&C could create their own seperate type of figures and poses for Stalingrad. Not to mention the fact that FL prices exclude some potential buys due to cost. As for vehicles, I think Blowtorch displayed vehicle types that have not been covered by K&C and or paint styles that could be used for the Eastern Front.

I dont know but I hope KC give us a surprise and produce a Stuka maybe when they do the Eastern Front I dont see in this day and age why they cant.

The wildest Eastern Front vehicle I can remember is the Russian "Aerosani". A type of armored snowmobile propelled by airplane engines. Imagine one of those babies bearing down on you with guns ablaze!

Doesn't Sara Palin go moose hunting with those?

Now, that really would be doing the eastern front like nobody else has done!!!!
