There is a 1:48th scale model kit available from Tamiya....I think the wing span on that model would be roughly 24" .....Not all that large for a bomber like the Lancaster.....I would buy a built 1:48th Lancaster from Figarti if they did this plane:salute::.

Yes - 26" wingspan at 1:48 and 17" length. That's a big model to me{sm2} I have the Corgi 1:72 diecast Lanc and can barely find room to display it. The only reason to go big that I can think of is to get incredible detail on the model.

That's exactly why I would want to see it done in 1:48th scale....The detail on a Lancaster 1:48th would be fantastic....I WOULD FIND THE ROOM FOR THAT....even if I had to hang it from the ceiling with 30lbs monofilament:salute::

I built the 1/72 Lanc amd it's OK size wise, not too big. I think it's smaller than the 1/30 FW190 from TG that I also have. The reason I like 1/72 bomber is I could get all other support vehicles and airfield equipments easy and cheap.

Would a manufacturer get a sizeable return on a plane made in a scale so different from its other ranges?

Several years ago, Figarti made the B-17 Memphis Belle in 1:32 for $900. A B-17 is marginally bigger than a Lanc

Figarti is in a state of flux right now. Peter Wang is leaving the company and someone is else taking over. They are still in business but apparently in a reduced capacity. I don't know if we will see any more airplanes from them.

Beau!!!! Where have you been mate!!??could you post a photo of your B-17?...Sammy

Soon! Way too much flying and away from home even more. Finishing up a move too but still in lovely AZ. Things are finally settling down so back to toy soldiers! Hope you are doing great!

OK, it probably (meaning definitely) will not happen, but I would love an A-10 Warthog in 1/30th.

Just a "Custom Order" away from dream to your home display! I double dog dare you Jason as your collection's Achilles heal is your lack of aircraft!

First and most importantly we have a confirmed Beaufighter sighting!!!!!!!!!!

As far as my Achilles heal? I have no doubt that you will have lots to say about it when we meet at the Westcoaster..............
