Future of TMTerrain (1 Viewer)

Wonder where the idle speculation is???? We know TMT sold a lot of his products. we know they did well to promote JJD from what it was to what it is now. We know that a new dealer in the UK will distribute JJD. These are facts. I asked what a new dealer could do better??

So this is a rather valid question and not idle speculation from those also as quick to side with JJD. Obviously, its created more interest and discussion in the UK than it has in the US but, thats down to the fact that most of us know the lads at TMT.
Mitch

The only facts we know is that TM was a dealer, John Jenkins made a business decision that he should change dealers. Anything else is idle speculation.

As to why he changed dealers that is for Mr. Jenkins to say and I don't believe he owes anyone an answer except perhaps TM Terrain. He certainly doesn't owe the consumers an answers to which the decision should be invisible.

As I said sometimes there is a lot beneath the surface to which we are not privy and I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case here.

John Jenkins figures have now been removed from our web site so you cannot buy them from us anymore- not even over the phone.
The new dealer goes live on 1st September so you will need to contact them for your JJD figures from that date. We would like to wish them every success and hope the dealership goes from strength to strength.

It means we just have First Legion, Collectors Showcase and Britains left. They are going fast.

Now I am up to speed I have to say Honourable my left eye!!!!!! gleeming references should have some re-evaluating what they consider to be honourable and where and when these labels are attached.

My very best to Mark and David. It will be a very interesting few weeks to see the phoenix arise!!!!!!

Hmmm....I had posted something a bit more to the point, (but it seems that has been moderated) sometimes the facts are not what we want to hear and accept, Mark and David deserved better than this.

Jeff

Totally agree they deserved much much better. It also IMO clearly shows whats what in terms of how some value things

Hi Matthew,

I assume you are referring to my comments above, sorry but I’m not in the habit of making vague statements, all I did was to pick up the phone and found out for myself.

Jeff

Is this vague. Tin cans and mortagages????
Mitch

oooooooh...of course..."tin cans and mortgages" (msp)...that explains it clearly...nothing vague about that...I think I understand now...^&confuse

Mitch,
Your posts suggest you know some background to this that others are not aware of. However it would appear
that whatever you have heard is probably only one side of the story. You seem to enjoy bringing this matter up
yet again after it had gone quiet.

TM Terrain was, apparently, the exclusive Jenkins dealer in the UK. At the end of the day Jenkins made a business
decision. One could safely assume Jenkins thought it was best for his business in the UK. Clearly TM Terrain would not have been happy with the decision no matter what the reasons given by Jenkins. It would appear this "unhappiness" is being discussed with some UK collectors such as yourself.

However is it your opinion that a manufacturer has no right to decide for themselves what is best for their own
business ?

I have dealt with Jenkins for almost three years and have spoken quite a few times with him (although not about
this matter) and I have found him to be a "class act" as do clearly a number of his collectors.

Please note that I have no interest in hearing about whatever it was that brought you "up to speed" as that is a
one sided view of what happened.

Regards
Brett

Whatever you say bertt its fine with me. He may just buy you lunch now.

Titch,
No problem. Anybody reading this thread can make up their own mind as to which party is showing "class" or being "honourable".

You are right and they can also see the transparent nature of posts. when you only pick on mine and make out I am continuing this issue when you failed to bring Jeff into your post who was first to reply to questions about what happened and, vagueness. Your self defence of manufacturers is as transparent also as your need to hound posters like ShyGuy about the belief of the size of his collection. until, you were sharply shown to be very very wrong.

So, is the churlish way you have to reply with titch as I place the 'e' in your name wrongly as I typed it. Many people who have contacted me and the lads at TM including some of the big dealers also agree and, you are right people are making their own minds up about who is right who is wrong and, making decisions on a host of other things.

As always an interesting thread when you post and I hope that certain people don't have good mates in Australia as you may find the same thing happening to yourself and, that would be a great shame

I'm wondering if it's possible for the two of you to show each other some respect by calling a person by his given name.

As I previously mentioned (and I am not taking sides here), there are facts to which we are not privy. We apparently have, via Jeff, the facts from one of the participants, but not Mr. Jenkins so what we know of the situation is one-sided and we may never know the full situation and I don't believe we have the right to know as this was a business decision.

Unbelievable news to say the least! Especially since you guys have done such a magnificent job promoting and selling Jenkins’s figures here in the UK.

I wish you both all the best for your future endeavours and hope to see you at the December show in London. :smile2:

It appears that this thread is getting a little bitter and twisted. I don't think anyone has a problem with JJD choosing who sells his figures here in the UK but more with the way it was done and that I found out in a phone conversation with TMT and in the interest of the forum protocol I am not going to post (or pm) the contents of that phone call here. Needless to say that David and Mark are very disappointed is an understatement and I reiterate that I wish them both all the best for the future.

Jeff

Jazzeum et al...

My name issue was error and was not noticed until I was called titch which, is more sad than funny from a grown man. I think its been hit right on the head that JJ is able and can choose where and whom sells his products and, that part of it would not have raised a comment but, as I said right at the beginning it got a bit up my nose people calling him honourable and siding up to him as he is a manufacturer or, a class act when, regardless of one side of the story, the manner in which these guys were treat was IMO and others, far from close to any of these statements. Its also worth noting that its an aspurtion that is also incredulous that because JJ has not said anything that he holds some pertinant facts that would make this all very different.

Maybe, I have different values held to honour, class and loyalty to a few on here and, that may be the issue of conflict.
Mitch

Must say I've always found both JJ and the TM guys very nice chaps indeed who it's always a pleasure to talk to, I hope both JJ and TM Terrain go from strength to strength.

Wonder if new supplier will be in London in December?

Rob

Rob,
the new distributor introduced himself in the John Jenkins section of the forum and he will be at the december show.
