Hi all,

will we see some new V range stuff?

Or is Figarti like Game Over ?

JPB

The way i see it,it has taken roughly 9 months for 1 Panther to arrive so i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anything new of any range in the foreseeable future.

It's a shame, Figarti have made some fantastic items, a lot that no other manufacturer would consider due size and expense. Really hope they have a game plan to continue to produce new items at some stage. Already down one with Conte, so a loss of another big player is not good for our hobby. Hopefully they will surface soon with some amazing offerings. Robin.

I don't think they (Figarti) are done yet...They make some great stuff....FIGARTI ...Let's do it...Build it we will buy it.:salute::

I have followed Figarti since they first showed up at OTSN I believe was 2004 with those Chinese, Japanese figures. Rick always said it was his fathers dream to produce toy soldiers. Absolutely loved his OTSN luncheons through out the years, strickley first class.
But from what I've gathered, as this toy soldier business, while a business, was more of a hobby. They made their money elsewhere. Now this has fallen by the wayside.
You would have to expect with so many companies producing top notch products some thinning of the herd should be expected.
Again just my thoughts.

Is this speculation or has Figarti given notice of ceasing operations? Their website is still up!
All the Toy Soldier manufacturers have slowed down new products; as the world ecconomy has slowed. Recent issues by K&C, TCS and Figarti have not sold out, so demand is obviously down.
Good business practice dictates reduction of overhead during poor ecconomic times. New product development is an overhead expense. Tooling is very expensive; so repaints and reissues may be the best way forward in the near term.

Figarti has stated they are re-organizing the Toy Soldier business on the other forum, but plan on continuing to produce. Figarti have never released an extremely large amount of sets each year. An while it has been even slower than usual. The KV-1 has come out as have some of the Winter Panthers.

Personally, I'll wait until the Chicago Show. Figarti historically has a presence there, so it will be interesting to see what capacity they show up in. I'm personally optimistic.

those luncheons were great. The highlight of the ostn show most years. Seeing the normandy beach head landing or the german railroad station ranks right up there with the year kc had all those great exhibits in their room like the crete, arnhem and winter scenes. Sorry andy but some of these shock and awes figarti had were just nothing but awsome. And some of my favorite pieces in my collection are figarti. They include my js2, is 152, some 8ton halftracks, my heinkel 219 ( thanks again rick) my firefly, jagdpanzer, fuel truck. There are some many good ones. Keep them coming.

I have the Figarti Panther G, T34-85 and Jagdpanzer. I consider these the best everdone of these AFV's! The Jagdpanzer was the first done in polystone to my knowledge. The Panther G exceeds the quality of the Honor Bound Panther A IMHO. Perhaps Figarti should consider offering custom options on standard vehicles i.e. different paint, markings and acessories to be specified by the customer. This could open new a market for already tooled vehicles.

I like Figarti AFV but think there figures let them down also the longer Figarti take to get there stuff out to the marketplace is losing them customers as people were will just take there money else where and think it in there interest to get there ship up and running the sooner than later as people are starting to lose faith in the company

Figarti should make a deal with First Legion; where First Legion does their figures and Figarti does First Legions armor/artillery. The best of all worlds and a return to a standard 60MM; 1/30 scale. What is there not to like! I think the combination of the two would eat the competition!

Would be interested to hear Clive view on the subject?

The problem with the Toy Soldier market is prices. The prices have doubled over the last five years in a poor ecconomy. Quality has not improved with the cost increases; but diminished in many instances. The current price points for AFV's open up other choices for the same price i.e. custom built and painted 1/35 scale models and figures. A collector can specify the details of the vehicle and it will than be a unique piece. Not one of 100 or 1000; but unique. I think Figarti could do very well offering this type of custom product to collectors.

I always viewed FIGARTI as "Hit or Miss".. Most of there AFV's artillery etc.. are decent.. But the figures are lousy.. The Reichsbahn series was pricey and a bit disappointing..I was kind of ticked off about the T34 with bed springs being so limited..Yes, i agree with the other poster.. FIGARTI and FL should make a deal.. Also, they should bring in KRONPRINZ..

Figarti has done some very innovative projects that more conservative companies would not even consider. The V1 and V2 plus the support vehicles. The JS-2, IS-52, where other companies considered Russian vehicles a loosing proposition only to jump into the market after Figarti led the way. The wide range of excellent artillery pieces; many that had not been previously done in 1/30 scale. The figures are a dissapointment but could certainly be improved. I believe Figarti has accomplished a geat deal and I hope they continue!

I totally agree with most of you, when I first started collecting only considered KnC as the only way possible as it looked like everyone else did the same....now I am thinking seriously if I should trade some of my KnC items in order to get more Figarti ones!

I don't know if it's game over but Rick Wang has sold the company to an employee. Rick's inspiration is what made Figarti. You don't want to predict the future so we will just have to wait and see. Hopefully, they can make a go of it.

Buy outs sometimes work; but most times do not! The arrival and quality of the preordered pieces will tell the tale of the future of Figarti. I have wondered why some Figarti armor on Ebay is marked up by double or more! The bets are being placed that Figarti products will shortly become rare collectors items from a deceased company. Sad!

If Rick sold the company, I'm afraid it's lights out! He was Figarti.
