A Figarti Tiger I Wittman #222 ETG-096 is on Ebay for $445.00 BIN. This was certainly not Figarti's best effort as the turret mantlet over hangs the hull hatches; but that is a heck of a markup! I also saw a Jagdpanzer IV L 70 for $ 375.00. The word is out that Figarti is gone! I do not believe we will see Figarti qualty AFV's again at the old prices. Absent Figarti; First Legion is first in AFV's, in both price and quality! Why is it the best die young; Honor Bound and now Figarti! Who will go next?

If it has finished that's very sad. Although I missed some of the earlier large pieces, thinking of the railway gun and a couple of boats, I am really thankful that I at least have all the V stuff and the Karl Morser. I will be looking after these for sure. Would be nice to know one way or the other, about the future of Figarti.^&confuse, Robin.

A shame! Although I don't collect 60mm, I always enjoyed Figarti products. Rick's willingness to discuss new ideas and products were most refreshing. Wish him well in his next venture.

To be honest where the proof Figarti has gone ? The web site still up and the Russian Kv tank just came out so let wait and see before coming out with statement like that

It would be nice if Rick came on this Forum and clarified the present situation with Figarti. A previous post indicated he had stated that Figarti had been sold on another Forum; which Forum and when. Dealers on Ebay are increasing prices; this could be indicative of major changes at Figarti.

Rick is no longer involved with Figarti and even if he wasn't and he still owned the company, he had delegated that function to others (as he has several other businesses that require his attention). In other words, I don't think he will come on and explain.

There a lot of dealers selling Figarti stuff with 20% off at the moment and also you got to remember Figarti only made small run numbers of only one hundred a item so a lot of there early stuff is getting rare and maybe that the reason for some high prices as well

This is incorrect.

The mantlet does not overhang the hatches. The Figarti late production steel wheeled Tiger I is extremely accurate as far as tank details. Turret numbers not so much.

The new Winter Panther is sublime. Perfect scale, perfect proportions, perfect detail. It is the best Panther every produced in 1/30. Additionally, all hatches open and close as does the engine compartment. Even if Figarti doesn't make it in the long run, the need to release the main batch I the Winter Panther so I can pick up another one.

The photos on Ebay of Tiger I # 222 is a production Tiger I, not a preproduction prototype. The photo clearly shows the turret mantlet overhanging the hull hatches. The top view photo is from directly overhead with no parallax.
I agree that the Figarti Panther G is the best ever done in polystone and replaces Honor Bound as the standard of quality. I have both and the quality and detail of the Figarti is superior in every way.

Parallax is easy to have and look like it is not there, especially in photos. You are looking at an e-Bay picture and making a judgment.

I own the Figarti model in question and am first hand inspecting the tank. The mantlet does not overhange the hatches. It looks close when viewed from directly overhead. The Figarti Tiger looks pretty much exactly like the scale drawings in the Jentz Tiger I book if you have that.

Here's a side pic that shows it a little better. There is plenty of clearance. If these miniatures were real they'd have no trouble opening the hatch and getting inside.

Those interested in Figarti Tiger I's a number have been posted on Ebay. Desert Tiger DAK-005 $700.00 BIN, Winter Tiger ETG-102 $ 700.00 BIN. Wittman Tiger 222 ETG-096 $ 475.00 BIN. Interesting prices; certainly not business as usual!

Where the logic in that ? A person put some figarti tank on ebay for a high price mean there going out of business !? Well it can't be looking good for K&C then !! Lol

Nearly 12 months and 2 new release and a winter Panther that hasn't appeared yet,a awfully slow take over may be they are just making some spectacular release and keeping it a big secret ^&grin^&grin

The FIGARTI of old is history IMO no more huge release at shows not more of the unusual.

A sorted search on e-bay of Figarti items shows some interesting patterns. Search for "fiigarti" in "toy soldiers" > sold > sort by highest price to see what has recently sold and by who. The same search can be done for "completed listings" to see what high priced Figarti items did not sell.

In response to an email I sent to Rick last night, he advised me that he had not sold the business but licensed the brand to one of the employees to work with Matt (and presumably Clive) and that the company continues. He did not elaborate about the specific arrangements between him and this employee (and I did not ask) but I presume that products will continue to be made.

Sounds promising mate cheers for that intel.

Hunter Rose; The Figarti Tiger I I cited as having the mantlet overhanging the hull hatches is the Wittman 222 ETG-096; not 002. Honor Bound had a similar problem with their Gold Tiger I's. Some had a hull hatch overhang and some did not. The turret turned out to be longer on some production runs and not on others. Very confusing! Polystone molds as I understand the technology have a limited life cycle of 75-100 pieces. A production run of several hundred pieces can involve multiple molds. Some molds will be more accurate than others! The Honor Bound Gold Tiger I's are very fine models despite the error with some of them. IMO if you pay over $200.00 for a model it should be an accurate model not an approximation!
