Gordon Highlanders scan the desert horizon on the lookout for the jihadist followers of the Mahdi. A recent penetration of the garrison has put it on high alert.

A note on the toughness of John's figures:

While prepping this to photograph, the figure on the right fell from the ledge and landed head first on a styrofoam base below. The bayonet penetrated the styrofoam its full length. Fortunately the figure sustained no damage. Thanks John for making such rugged soldiers.

That is another great pic Randy...that K&C piece is really pretty...John had told me that the weapons would be more fragile...as he had scaled them down...you're lucky...I hate when I drop a soldier...I'm always so scared to inspect him afterwards...

Another nice study Randy !! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

I had one I dropped and left him there for a day while I cooled down, turned out he was fine though.

ooooooooooooh Scott...:D...I couldn't do that...I'm so the opposite...I bend down as quickly as I can to recover him "IMMEDIATELY"...as if that might somehow help prevent the already caused damage...I have been lucky...but accidents do happen...when they are too damaged to repair...it's like losing a son...even if they are duplicate sets that you own several of...

it's like the 3 second rule like in a restaurant...if you pick it up quick...no damage...

just kidding...

Here is the bayonet used initially in the Sudan. It's good that both John and WB have made them sturdier or they would never make it in shipping.

Robin

That is an incredible display and most original in concept. Did you build the transport raft? It is terrific.

Partly cheated, it is the tray of a Schleich jungle truck, but I did attach the upright posts. I use this in my Zulu set ups. cheers.

Gentlemen, we are taking that oasis at all costs.

thanks Mike, I have been trying to arrange with Randy by email with attachment, so he can upsize and post for me, but so far the emails are not getting to him outside our forum private messages. I know the photo's are small, but I have failed 101 in photobucket and this is the size the forum site will allow.

I like that Robin...you're gathering up your figures pretty fast...

really nice...:cool::cool::cool:

is there anyway you can enlarge your photos a little bit...

Robin...this is all I can do...if you can send me the image by email before you reduce it...

Some very very nice displays there. Thanks for sharing them

thanks Michael, good size photo. The set up is on 4 what we call in Australia card tables with folding legs for easy storage. This takes most of the front room of my house when laidout. Would love to add a couple of Gatling guns as it is still set up today, but I think they are 16,000 klms away at the moment and the cleaning lady is coming Tuesday and this needs to be packed away before she arrives. Blast.
