Consternation at Constantinople. Crusaders on the way to the Holy Land stop off outside Constantinople. Mistrust, deception and intrigue is thick as thieves in the cool night air. Crusaders are not allowed inside the great city for fear of attack but those dastardly 'Greeks' are hatching a plan and secretly conspiring with Crusader enemies.

You need sunglasses to look at these colourful figures Gary. I have that Conte set with the Roman being taken out, one of Richards best sculpts. You are having a fun weekend with your collection. Robin.

I see now why it is either a case of a long waiting game for certain figures to appear on ebay for otherwise impossible to find figures. Gary has them all !{sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

Great display of Rome's might Gary !

Steve

That Roman line looks to be impenetrable. Massive effect, very impressive. You are keeping some manufacturers in business Gary. Robin,

Thanks both - With the TG three shield designs I hadn't realised how many of the TG Romans I have - approaching 200 I think. Way too much money spent on these things. I have all the Conte old sets and a few FL and K&C Romans but need to really increase the numbers of the opposition which only runs to around 40 figures - lots on the market but not enough cash for them!

Gary

Hi Gary ! You made the brave move !

I took the easy route of going for the "Classic" AKA Hollywood, Red shields, which will stand in for all Legions for me !
Poor lads, they're be putting in for overtime !{sm4}
If only I had the £/$.{sm3}

Steve - agree its been a hell of an investment but on mass the legionaries look good together. Importing into New Zealand does not help the bank balance either and as you can see from this thread I tend to collect something of everything. Just when I think of cutting back something pops up like the TG chariot or Ready4Action WW2 Polish lancers, new JJD war of the roses figures and so the list goes on. Seriously time to cut back a little I think. Oh but the JJD Aztecs look so good!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am weak......

The new John Jenkins Aztec arrival prompted me to get out my old Morgan Miniatures Aztec figures. They certainly make a colourful and interesting display whether under lights on a shelf or cabinet or in a diorama. Here's to the next releases.

North of Venice June 1918. Battered Italian forces regroup to check Austro-Hungarian offensives. Italy having lost over 600,000 men in the war so far were reluctant to go on the offensive themselves but allied pressure from London and Paris was building for them to do so. Orders are received for a reconnaissance flight to determine new enemy positions and distribution. This would be the last flight of the pilot shaving as he would be shot down over enemy lines. By October 1918 the Austro-Hungarian empire was collapsing with an armistice signed on the 4th November. The empire that started the war was dead.

As it is so cold outside, I expect you will be preferring to stay indoors Gary and continue to present more wonderful diorama's like this. Robin.

Thanks Robin. No more Toy Soldiers for a month as currently in a very cold London. I do have the ready4action WW2 mounted Polish cavalry being delivered to my parents in Devon while I am in the UK and I will return to NZ in 2018 to a large shipment of TG figures and plane plus some JJD imports so all not lost. Have a good holidays. Gary.

Yep with TG having released so many great figures this month it's been impossible to be strong and resist the temptation !
