Gary's collection (2 Viewers)

As an offshoot of doing the 'complete Roman army' article I am doing an article on 'Defying the eagles' on Rome's enemies. I started the photoshoot yesterday. Rain stopped play today!

On another note my days doing articles and posting on this forum are numbered. I have accepted a job in Tasmania but the toy soldier collection will not be following me as it will stay and be stored in NZ. Also a chance to break the cycle of continually buying the things as I have collected in the UK and NZ but probably not much in Aus.

But I don't go until the end of May so a few more photos yet!

Gary

Looks like you will be starting a new chapter in your life journey Gary. Hopefully you will not give up entirely with this hobby and your amazing collection. All the best. Robin.

Lack of space and money will curtail things for a while. But we shall see as life moves forward.

All the Best on your new direction. I will miss seeing regular glimpses of your amazing collection Gary.
Physical Space may be limited in the immediate future, but who knows where life will take you and when time isn't at such a premium your collection will no doubt come back and be added to again :wink2:

Looking forward to what you still have to show before the next chapter in your life begins. :salute::

Steve

Did not remember you having a Conte Galley. How long have you had it? Have you any plans to set it up in a dio. Cheers, Robin.

Ah had the Roman Galley since it was released in the mid 2000's. Got the second version of the Viking longboat and medieval cog all around the same time from Conte. They were great fun and such good value. At the time a pound (I was living in the UK) was almost worth $2. They worked out at little over $200 a pop.

No chance of dio as remember everything is being packed up and put into storage ready for the Tasmanian adventure.

Gary

Gary I have really enjoyed following this thread of your outstanding collection.Roman figures(and their enemies)really lend themselves to massed displays.Loved the massed archers.Best of luck for your new venture in Tasmania.

The boxing up continues as the collections goes into storage. I have been taking some shots as I go.
