I wen't out this afternoon - the snow was already above my knee, but the roads were plowed and traffic was moving. It's now 6 p.m. and still snowing and is supposed to stop overnight. I'll shovel the walk tomorrow in the sunshine.

Above your knee!{eek3} What a wimp I am, the snow is barely 6 inches deep, and projected to make it to as much as 14+ inches, and I am already dreading shoveling out in the morning!

Hope you guys can post some pics of the beautiful white stuff, and I may even get some snow here in Arizona tommorow as a cold front pushes through tonite, the Vail area at 3,500 hundred feet (my house) may get 1-3 inches of snow on Saturday!!!!!! not a blizzard but I'll take it:)...Sammy

Sounds like a good time for some indoor sports.................:wink2:

Luckily there are 5 young able bodied people here-3 who stayed the night and will have to help move snow to get their cars out.

You folks haven't forgotten that it snows in winter. I took a business trip to Ottowa a couple of years ago, at the end of January/beginning of February. There was 4 feet of snow on the fields at the airport, but paths were cut and the runways were clear. It snowed several times, during my stay, and I was impressed how well everyone handled driving as the snow fell. Here, everyone would have stopped, clutching the steering wheel in a growing panic, but up there, folks were doing 45 in it. People just accepted it.

Prost!

It wasn't that bad around here although I guess we got about a foot. The snow guy came and the driveway is plowed -- no way I'm doing that! We didn't lose power although I really never thought we would. It's only those weird storms in the last two Octobers where we lost power.

Time to go out and do errands!

Went out for breakfast at 7:30 and all the main roads are plowed. No problem getting around - seems like a normal Saturday morning. The only difficulty was the 3 ft. drifts on my front walk and driveway. If I didn't have 4 wheel drive I probably could not have backed out of the driveway.

Man did we get clobbered here, over two feet of snow.

We are literally trapped in our house, cannot open either the front or back doors.

Incredible that we did not lose power, the lights were flickering all night long, thought for sure we were going to lose the power, but we did not as it would have been artic in the house.

About 400,000 people in massachusetts are without power, the crews cannot get to the lines with all the snow.

Oh and it's still snowing..............

That's why we keep a mini snow scoop inside the front door. So we can push the storm door our far enough to get one arm and the scoop out to clear the snow from the storm door and open it all the way. That was necessary today. But it's a terrible feeling to be snowed in and unable to push the door open. I'll have to go out soon and shovel snow away from the garage door so it can swing up and let me get to the snow blower.

So, how are you going to get out? Are your parents ok?

I haven't checked the news but in this part of NJ we were lucky.

Well we have snow here in Tucson!!!! Looks like we may get 1-3 inches, beautiful!!!!...Sammy

I called my parents, they are trapped too, front and side doors frozen shut as they got rain mixed in with snow.

Back door has a 5 foot drift up against it.

They have a guy who comes and plows, he'll be able to shovel them out, he's done that before.

I'm going to have to wait until the guys who shovel us out come by, it's not like I've got anywhere to go, there is a ban on traveling in the state at the moment anyway, been in effect since 4:00pm yesterday.

Hopefully Gov. Coupe Deval will be sending his trusty Lt Gov. "Tiny Tim" Murray out to do one of his famous 108 MPH in his Pajamas Storm Damage Assessment Tours". :rolleyes2:^&grin

Overtime was canceled today. We were only suppose to get 1-4" but the roads were suppose to be icy and it wasn't worth going in for 1/2 a day. When I got up this morning I saw we got nothing! We were lucky but my heart goes out to those in the north of us as they got hammered.

Post offices closed, so much for neither rain, sleet nor snow. I couldn't resist but then with the travel bans in effect, that does make sense. It seems to have been worse as you get closer to the coast.

We were a lot luckier than George and his family. We got 14 inches. I started shoveling at 6:50 a.m. and finished at 12:05 p.m. Dug out my more than 100 foot long driveway, dug out both Jeeps, took the big one out for egg sandwiches for the kids at around 10:30 a.m. (once I had cleared the driveway to the turnaround) and let the dogs (a Finnish Spitz and a Siberian Husky) and the kids play while I finished digging out. My son whaled me in my bad ear (I have a punctured eardrum) with a snowball as I was working and I couldn't hear out of the ear at all for about an hour (it hurt like nobody's business, but he didn't know about my ear, so I wasn't too angry). I will probably feel it in my lower back for a couple of days, but we never lost power, the storm has passed, the sun is shoning, and the roads are clear, so no complaints.:wink2:

I,m a couple of towns away from George and also got hammered by that snow!!! Its hard to say how much I got because it was blown all over with the strong winds.
Some spots had as little as 6in and others over 3ft! I,d guess we got around 2ft? Shoveling was NOOOOOOO FUN! The snow was very heavy and had tree branches mixed in. I think for once they called this one right, it was as bad as they said it would be. And of course some of the deepest snow drifts had to be right in the middle of my driveway.

This is one to remember that,s for sure!{eek3}
