Apologies for the delay, this fine set is now up on our website catalog and available for pre-order. As we continue to expand our coverage of the latter parts of the Battle of Stalingrad, we are pleased to present a winter version of the PAK 38 with Crew. Presented in a slightly more dirty and ragged style reflecting the conditions at the time, this piece is the perfect foil to our Winter T-34 and assaulting Russians as the noose around the kessel is drawn ever tighter. Desperate in the extreme, how long can they hold out? We're really just ramping up our coverage of the latter portion of the battle as it's something we can have some fun with so additional figures will be coming later in the year.

I'd say a must have period. I have a very old K & C one and I love the piece.

I would think you could use this in a Bulge scene.

A little iffy for a Bulge scenario. The 50mm weapons were pretty much displaced by 75mm and 88mm guns by that point.

There's an interesting passage about this weapon in Crisp's Brazen Chariots. In the book, the unit commander and author recounts a raid that he led on a German column during the Crusader battles. He describes how his depleted squadron of Stuarts roared about the desert shooting up lorries and throwing up clouds of dust. However, a problem arose. The attackers didn't notice that not all of the assailed were trying to escape. Rather, some accompanying anti-tank crews did what they were trained to do. They unlimbered their guns and began to engage their assailants. Crisp survived the encounter by directing his driver to steer over the top of an escarpment and down it's face. Miraculously, he and his crew made it. Most of the other vehicles that took part in the attack weren't so lucky. Would love to see a DAK version of the PAK 38.
