Nicely done, Steve. Love that beer cart. You did a great job creating a realistic scene from the picture (and a muddy one at that). K&C's Roman Auxiliary soldiers are excellent; esp. like the blue variety.

Got a few myself (perhaps I'll have to create a beer cart now). ^&grin

Cheers Rob. My Beer cart is a small conversion from the Life of Jesus Ox cart and repainted as with the Oxen. which I think look the most natural looking Oxen and Barrel support fashioned from small pieces of wood. .

Before I had a chance to scroll down to the start of the thread I said to myself that this looks like a scene taken from Ron Embleton's book Hadrian's Wall in the days of the Romans which I've a copy of and one of my favourite books on my library shelves.

You have created a terrific scene here, well done to you.

Thank you very much guys. Yes I have that very same book, full of Ron's brilliant art work. Sadly passed away now, he did a lot of work in the 1960's for Magazines such as "Tell Me Why" and other publications of same ilk even a top shelve one !
And even in the title cards of one of the Supermarionation kids TV show of "Captain Scarlet" !
Andy of K&C is a great fan of his too as he has mentioned before in the past, and you can see in his Romans range where inspiration for some figures came from. I think I'm right in saying Issue #51 of The Collector even has one of his works as the front cover.

Further North you go wetter it seems to get, expect the weather hasn't changed much over the last few Millenniums , it's enough to drive a man to drink ! ^&grin

Was just a quick set up so just used some of the earth that I had finely sifted mixed with a little water.
I do want to try for the same effect using scenic water when I have time and see how that sets.
