Mike, I have also regreted selling some sets over the years, great to see you have the opportunity to revisit the same conflict, those Zulu poses are amazingI'm certainly glad I revisited the Anglo-Zulu War era. Years ago I had a rather large collection of WB Rorkes Drift figure sets and buildings. Alas, I sold it all off to new homes. Oh well, that was then and this is now. The important thing is that I'm really enjoying 'getting back on the saddle".

You are quite good at those shelf displays aren't you Mike. I have all the JJD figures so far released and like Robin have most of WB range (matte and gloss) plus Thomas Gunn (their new figures are really good) and Heritage and Conte.
I did an article for Toy Soldier Collector magazine some time ago (might have been issue 100). But I cannot display all of it and feel the need to let most of it go at some stage once the collection is united
But you have sown the seeds of retaining a little of that redcoated and ebony eye candy.
Well done Mike another winner on the way.
I need to follow your example! I started collecting in January 2002 and have never sold anything. I have approaching 15,000 figures plus vehicles, scenics etc. It's the boxes that take up the space.
A large shipping container is full in NZ and two large storage units just about full in the UK. I have just emptied the atic this afternoon of toy soldiers to try to squeeze them into storage but it's filled up my lounge, with some items I forgot I had.
My wife is away and on her return she is not going to be impressed.
I have the March JJD figures arriving tomorrow, and another 35 or so additions. I think I need therapy![]()
Around 5 years ago I came to decision, that if I could not display it, I could not keep it. I have let go half my collection in the last year in anticipation of my new man cave, which is half the size of my previous one. Finally a few days ago we are in the new house and although my collection is in a chaotic state, I am making headway in setting it back up. As I do not keep boxes, there is not an additional storage issue. The last thing I want is to be overwhelmed by the amount, so in the next month I will know whether I need to do another cull, hopefully not. This hobby is a big part of my life. Robin.

Must be tough to part with the little men. They have been a big and constant part of my life too. Over the past 24 years they have been a rock steering me through bringing up kids divorce, new relationships and a new wife, job changes, living in four different countries, the death of loved ones and the inevitable ups and downs of life.Around 5 years ago I came to decision, that if I could not display it, I could not keep it. Interesting thread on the trials and tribulations of this hobby. Men, have you noticed the Zulu numbers are starting to build up, we may need urgent reinforcements soon or be over run.. Robin.
Another Anglo-Zulu War delivery today in the middle of a blizzard that has buried us in 12 to 33 inches of snow depending where you live in Wisconsin. My compliments to our local Post Office and staff.
GGZ-02 Impi Zulu of the uThulwana Regiment, GGZ-04 & GGZ-07 4 Zulu Warriors of the uThulwana Regiment, and GG-106 OX Wagon with Mealie Bags (which by the way is excellently done).
- Well hats off to the USPS for getting this very important package delivered to you, no matter what the weather was dishing out. That must have been your postman I saw hanging on to the back of a snowplow and gripping a big brown box.
