Go Lakers! (1 Viewer)

Well LA is finally up on the big board. Not pretty but much needed. Game 4 is huge. A Boston win and it's over. A LA win and things get interesting. Gasol and Odom are killing me with their soft play. Why does a 7ft tall man try to flip the ball underhand in the hoop? Dunk it for the love of god.

Could not agree more, Odom needs to stay in control however as we know what happens when he puts his head down---foul trouble. The key will still be if they can stop Kobe or not and LA's own defense. I am hoping (obviously) for an LA win not only as an LA fan, but as an NBA fan. This will be a very interesting series should they win.

"Gasol and Odom are killing me with their soft play. Why does a 7ft tall man try to flip the ball underhand in the hoop?" Because he is an incredibly soft player, that's why.

I expected the Lakers to come out and run the Celtics out of the building as they could not afford to lose the game for obvious reasons.

They showed me nothing last night other than Kobe is THE biggest crybaby in the history of the NBA. He whines after every play. Fouls in the NBA are like holding calls in the NFL; you could call one on every trip down the court if you wanted to.

Kobe; shut up and play the game.

I thought it was over when the Celtics went up by six, but Pierce the turnover machine and Zohan hitting his threes allowed the Lakers to take the lead.

Bottom line is if Pierce and Garnett didn't stink out the joint last night, it would be 0-3 Celtics, the big three was the big one last night.

If Zohan didn't score 20 off the bench last night even with Pierce and Garnett stinking out the joint, it's 0-3 and the series is over.

At least the Lakers made things interesting again........

Ya, the Lakers didn't show much last night and there still in trouble but, could the referee's please start calling those **** Boston illegal moving picks and screens? Once you set the pick or screen your not allowed to move your feet and hold on to the picked player, they finally called one on Garnet at the end of the game but they've been doing it all season.

You have GOT to be kidding me!

I never can understand how in the NBA the same teams can look so dominating and so helpless all in the same game...

As a Minnesota guy, I feel good for KG.

Outcoached and outplayed. The better team looks like the Celts. Some huge mental mistakes and poor coaching by Phil tonight. Interesting to see how they come out on Sunday.

I'm speechless............nice call Van Gundy "I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the series is now 2-2"..................stick to coaching ace...........................

I agree with you on the announcers... some really stupid comments plus they have been showing their bias toward Kobe and The Lakers all throughout the series.

Speechless is my feeling after this game. Taking nothing away from Boston, LA had a monumental collapse to put it bluntly. They gave up a very golden opportunity. That's the NBA, I think sometimes the stars just won't align and that is how I look at this series. Taking all emotions out of it, we have 2 fairly evenly match teams that are very different in how they play. Both can be brilliant and both can be awful too, but they are by far the 2 best in the NBA right now. The ebs and flows of the game are incredible and I for one am happy to see it.

Again, I think and in the back of my mind all along have thought it is Boston's year to shine. The Lakers are fairly young and on the cusp of a championship, I think they have a good shot at seeing the finals again next year. Unless they have a miracle, its Boston's year. I think 4 to 2, finals end in Boston unless the Lakers completely give up on Sunday after such an emotional collapse.

A loss like that one does a great deal of damage to the reputations of Kobe and Phil Jackson. There was some talk about Kobe emerging as the next Michael Jordan if the Lakers could pull this off. Instead he looks more and more like Elgin Baylor - great player and scorer but not among the best of the best. Phil appears befuddled and not for the first time in the finals. Jordan saved him on more than one occasion in Chicago. Doc Rivers has outcoached him at every step. This is a good Celtics team, but not a great one. So they could have been beaten with the talent that the Lakers have and better coaching. The loss of Andrew Bynum who was playing strong hurt the Lakers big time in this series where the Celts have killed Odom and Gasol.

Ah well, maybe next year.

I agree with Tom and Doug 100%; the Celtics built this team for a two or three year (at most) window and it looks like it will pay off. I see the Lakers as being a powerhouse for the next four or five years with at least a couple of titles in there.

Phil calls timeouts a waste and a mental white flag, but I think he should have used a couple last night if for nothing else to disrupt the Celtics.

On a side note, who is that clambrain sitting next to Jack with the white Gilligan hat and sunglasses? LA, got to love the fruitloops who come out to the Lakers games...........

More importantly who was the blonde sitting next to him during game 3.

Well, at least we get one more game. I can't see LA winning two in Boston. Their D is too inconsistent and Phil has not made any real adjustments. The Celtic role players have been red hot. The only hope may be that Pierce played all 48 minutes last night and the next game is tomorrow. Not much rest. Garnett and Rondo have been inconsistent. If Perkins is out again and Kobe can play lights out for once, then maybe we get to a wild game 7.

Sad thing is as bad as the Lakers have seemingly played, they legitimately could be up 3 to 2! Celtics are letting things slip and letting the Lakers get out to leads. Of course, probably will be different in Beantown and I still say its the Celtics year, but at least its more respectful now and getting exciting.

All depends on which version(s) of which team(s) show up for Game 6.

This series is going seven, no doubt in my mind. The trip back and game tomorrow will take it's toll on Pierce, look at Allen last night; he played all 48 minutes in game 4 and was sitting more than playing last night.

Perkins being out is huge for the Lakers, Pau has noone to stop him now in the low post and from a rebounding standpoint. Great couple of games by Sasha by the way, what a hacker he is, just a terrible defender, Sam firing him to the floor was priceless.

If the Lakers could play defense, they'd be up 3-2. They have nothing to lose, the Celtics will be tight tomorrow night IMO. Wow are they terrible in the first quarter.

Nice non call by the ref last night on the Kobe steal; he got ALL man, ZERO ball and they didn't call a foul.

Game seven will be a lot of fun; bottom line is when you have your foot on the other teams throat, you finish them off and the Celtics did not. Garnett has looked horrible in LA, I hope some home cooking does him some good...........

George,

Don't have a coronary just yet, the Lakers have found a way to give it away, and their defense is consistently terrible! I feel like LA is going to lay an egg tomorrow night and Garnet will have his career playoff game. Kobe keeps saying they are due to have a good game in Boston, but I don't believe it, just too inconsistent when it matters and the physicality of the Celtics will win out. Both teams have had golden opportunities, but the key will be the Game 4 collapse, that is what the Lakers will look back on and realize they really blew it.

I don't hold out much hope for two wins in Boston, but the Celts have played a lot of games in these playoffs. Maybe some of their guys will start to wear out. Perkins is injured, maybe some of those role players cool off and the Laker big guys seem to be playing better with each game. Kobe has had only one good game - so maybe he is due. The downside is that no matter how well the Lakers have played their terrible defense allows the Celts to stay in the game. The Lakers can't knock them out with that one offensive blitz they have each game. I would be shocked, amazed, stunned if the Lakers can pull it off. The Lakers and Celts are something like 22-2 at home in the playoffs, but this is a strange series.
