My FW190, Red 13, just arrived this a.m. and I have to say it is fantastic. It is now officially the favorite piece in my TS collection.:D This is my first TS purchase in over 4 months and took awhile to put the money together, and it is worth the wait and trouble. Couldn't be happier with it and I now am looking forward with equal enthusiasm to the Marseille Bf-109. KC really did a superb job. Many thanks Andy. I especially am pleased with the lack of underwing ordinance, as I like my fighter aircraft as "clean" as possible. The aux fuel tank looks good by itself. Excellent coloring and detail. It is the Butcher Bird I have always wanted.:D -- Al

Lancer...

Nice to hear. Would love to see some pics as I have only seen the ones on the site and they never give it the credit it deserves.

I am expecting mine tomorrow and I will post photos as soon as I can.

That would be great advertising photos are nice but "in hand" photos are the best.;) Even though I am not in the scale aircraft market at the moment, I do love looking at them.

Just got mine too! Very nice for sure. Possibly the best plane yet. I just love the new K&C planes. This is my 3rd, and the Spitfire is on order. Also got the new LCVP today. TOP NOTCH product and very heavy. If you haven't ordered one, what are you waiting for????? Now if I can just find somewhere to put all these big things. It was a lot easier when I was just doing ACW, but less fun. Plus, my son really gets into the WWII stuff.

I am still wondering where am I going to put this bird ?

Space issues are coming BIG TIME with these new affordable K&C Planes

I second that.

I have to be very disciplined in trying not to break yet another piggy bank... not many piggies left. No WW2 for me or I will have to rob the bank.

Ron, beware if your wife suggests you hang them above your head in the bedroom.

Pictures, please.....

I'll be seeing this in person within the next two days, or so, myself and looking foward to it.

LOL - Oz

She has already nixed the idea of hanging planes and toy soldiers from the ceiling - "you are not 12 anymore Honey ..."

Imagine if you have a ceiling fan with 4 blades... and you hang on each blade the Fw190, Me109, Spitfire and the Hurricane... then you turn on the switch :D

I can see tears and very empty pockets unless you have a boat load of patients and a whole lot of glue!!

Well...I just had a look at the new Fw-190....;)

And I like it....very much...:)

The tail wheel has been corrected now.... and greatly improved the Fw's overall appearance.

Is it perfect.....no, but it looks much better than the pictures do. Infact, it has more detail than I would have expected. The engine oil pump bulges are there on the lower engine cowling cover...which is an important feature on the Fw, funny the picture makes them look flat...so I was surprised to see this detail.

We'll, I "bashed" this Fw for what I saw as fair reason on a now deleted thread and I'm not going to appolgize for that because NOW he has a BETTER Fw because of it...:)

But... I do regret calling K&C products "cartoonish" and I'll say why.

I had good time to look at Andy's products today at the Hobby Bunker....with the benefit of a Graphics Designer whom I had just met at the store and I quized him about what I was observing....let me explain...

What I was looking at "IN PERSON" and what I see in the catalogue....are not quite the same. K&C colors are more subdued in person and are more realistic looking than the colors in the catalogue which seem to portray brighter yellows, reds, blues and just about all the colors in the catalogues are brighter ( hence my cartoonish statement ).

The Graphics Designer explained to me the contrast here.... and what it would cost to have that, "color in person" be the same for the color in the catalogue. I won't get into it here , but I was told the cost is too prohibitive just to print a catalogue with the colors to "my standards" and these catalogue colors are the way they are to get the image to "POP".

I picked out Rommel's Plane, the Me-108, to compare colors with, from the catoalogue to the "in person" colors to further my point, as now... I thought I judged KC to harshly...The Grapics Designer...was ahead of me....." you see the sand color looks more sand and the olive green camo blotches look right, natural, but in the catalogue, the sand look yellow and the camo blotches look brown, that's just how catoalogues colors come out ". I get it now, I've been looking at too many catalogues...

One more issue I'd like to clear up.....

I made the 1 step foward 2 steps back comment and really got George's "Irish Up" and I can't blame him, he's just trying to make a living selling TS. Something that's not easy to do, in these times....

One step foward was KC quality is getting better....two steps back was some of the detail mistakes and the price increases...

Quality comes at a price I know....but I have some issues with how some releases are coming out with "extras " that's nice...but it only increases the product price...I use the Fw's fuel drums as an example, nice...but with that extra it just put the Fw's price over the top for me. And the coming Me-109...I can see no detail errors and Andy did his homework, it's great...but again the price...adding the Marseille figure, I think , just brings the planes cost up too much. Maybe selling the figure separate in fewer numbers than the plane could go a LONG way in selling each faster....Maybe even bringing new people into the hobby as cost could be more reasonable...just a thought..:)
