Inspired by the John Basilone episode in The Pacific and K&C's M1917A1 Browning.

Nice Steve. Really impressed with your ability to crank out these jungle scenes!:D

Steve,
Outstanding, love the larger, action oriented dioramas, this one is right in my wheelhouse, just terrific, thanks for sharing.

Nice bud!

Only thing would be Springfields 1903 being replaced for Garands but I would love to see marines with 1903 rifles!

Scott

Very nice! The second picture with the .30 cal machine gun is a reminder of what John Basilone and his fellow marines faced for 3 straight days in October 1942...

Thanks Moe as I am impressed with yours.

Steve

Thanks tried to capture some of the action from that great series.

Cheers George, glad you're liking it. Larrys must be super impressive !

Scott

Scott, you have to use what's available / issued and where as US Marines seem to be end of the queue for equipment, here as you can see they've managed to get a few off the Army !

Thank you. Yes and hopefully there be a lot more people posting photos of their diorama of same.

looks amazing!

you can very well use the new dead Japanese sets in this diorama Mate😁👍

Harrie

The Japanese flags look striking in the subtle light. You have captured the onslaught about to occur very well Steve. Your terrain work is always spot on. Robin.

Great work. Besides the M1 rifles, the other trivia was that the 1st Marine Div did not have the camo helmet covers on Guadalcanal.

Absolutely Harry ! But will have to wait a month or two as this months TS budget goes on the VN releases.

Thanks Robin. As Harrie says I could do with a few of the new K&C dead Japs. As for the photo I just reduced the amount of light in the photo same time as I resized it for the forum.

Gary B.

Yes Gary quite correct, but K&C's Marines are I thought supposed to represent Marines from Tarawa onwards. So any errors of a dio by me of Guadalcanal are all mine. But I was trying to convey the action.
As I'm sure you are aware K&C haven't done Marines without helmet covers or with Springfield Rifles at present. Perhaps they will do at a later date, though of course it might not be financially viable for them. I for one wouldn't go to the extra expense to get those if they were made as I only buy what I like and I like Camouflage helmet covers !

Steve

Nice,No camo helmets at the Canal.

Yes as you'll see from my replies to Gary and Scott.
One can probably spot errors in all the manufacturers products, after all they're only human and can miss something and can hardly scrap a whole run for minor issues because manufacturing costs and us collectors wanting constant releases of our chosen lines !

Steve

Steve, another very impressive dio. Regarding the helmet covers, we work with what we have. Great scene. Chris

Thanks Chris !

Don't the Marines say something like Adapt, Improvise and overcome !

Steve, A bit late to the party but I have been in Chicago with George for the last 10 - 11 days, so just catching up.
I will second and third the previous comments …. another smashing hit for you and Andy's USMC series.

I saw the USMC dios in Andy's room (K&C Room) and was really impressed … it is a dio of USMC attacking a Japanese airfield.

The interesting item was one of the previous K&C Japanese planes that (unfortunately) :redface2: .. fell off the shelf. So what did Andy do?
He used it in the dio as a destroyed plane, full of holes and badly damages,

Superb …. but I not planning to destroy one of mine ….. {sm3}

Hummmmm …. ANDY can you make a damaged and destroyed plane for sale ?
I would buy a few right away. Think about it????

Hey thanks Larry, was starting to wonder where you'd disappeared to !

Bet you had a whale of a time on your Road trip holiday to your own Nirvana amongst the manufacturers and their offerings ! I guess you filled Georges van up with your purchases for the return trip !

Yep', Steve, I came home with some fun toys.
USMC, JJD planes, Britains WWII Marine (#13027) that scales fairly well with K&C and some scenery items.

I wish you could have been there to see the USMC /JN diorama that Andy and team built. INCREDIBLE!!
It was a Japanese airfield runway with control towers, bunkers, destroyed planes, attacking USMC guys and Japs defending.
Looked like the scenes from the TV Mini-Series "The Pacific".

Pictures should be up on the forum some place.
