Hannibal (1 Viewer)

After an eternity, Hannibal is returning to NBC on Thursday night, June 4th. Almost missed it as I only saw the commercial for it tonight. Didn't catch the time but it is probably 10pm, EST. Finally! -- Al

Glad to see nothing has changed in terms of mood or production values. Still creepy and twisted and still almost impossible for me to make out what Mikklesen (Hannibal) is saying with his combination low talking accent. -- Al

I love the show, filming, acting, writing, etc, but the music sucks and is way too loud over the dialogue! It almost made me give up on last season and during the first episode of this season, I remembered why. It's just so annoying to me.

Bummer! Just read where the show has been axed. Will play out this season and then gone-baby. Too bad as I really enjoy this bent show. I guess there will be no wrap-up to the story as this season is long in the can and the vision was to wrap the story in 5 or 6 seasons. This bites because now the fans of the show know there will be no ending. -- Al

That winds me up as well Al....same thing happened with The Following

Cheers

Interesting, as always, episode last night, even though Lecter wasn't in it very much. Lot's of plans being laid. One impression is that there are a lot of warped doctors running loose.:rolleyes2: I like the episode because I didn't have to decipher Mikkleson's accent most of the time. Rather, his low-talking style that makes it difficult to catch what he says. Will is off to see the wizard. -- Al

Hi Al

Not sure if the episodes we get are just behind yours but the one shown in the UK this week had an interesting use for an Ice pick {eek3} :wink2:

Cheers

Hi Martyn,
I find it hard not to be fascinated by this show, despite it's gruesome content and subject matter. It is just so well written and particularly well-staged it is impossible to look away from. The dark mood never lifts and the mind games being played out always leave me wondering what the heck just happened and where do we go from here. I'm going to be all sorts of disappointed when the show ends it's run. -- Al

A gruesome episode, very much along the lines of the movie. Can't believe he let him get away. How do you blow a chance like that? The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly comes to mind, as Tuco said, "When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk." -- Al

The episodes have moved heavily into the realm of the movies that have been previously made from the books, inevitable I suppose. But the shows still have their own take and feel which makes them worth watching. I do find that with the show now in familiar territory some of the suspense is gone as I know where the story is going. This familiarity is offset by the superb writing and acting that the show has always exhibited, so I will keep watching till the end. The Tooth Fairy is a worthy adversary for Will so it will remain interesting. -- Al

Episodes still involved with the Red Dragon. The advantage of the series over the movie is allowing the plot and characters to develope at a mote measured pace. Some subtle and not so subtle differences but every bit as good as the movies. Save yourself, kill them all. -- Al

The finale was a beaut. The dance of death a true bloodbath, although the actual ending a bit predictable, all left open for the next season that apparently will not take place. A pity as this was one unusual and fascinating show. I will miss this show. -- Al

The show is finished as far as NBC is concerned but apparently there is a possibility that it will continue if picked up by another broadcaster, cable or whatever. This is something I'd like to see happen. -- Al

Well, almost 5 years on and it is obvious that this show was never continued but I did discover it is now being carried by Netflix and I am currently binge watching it. I have missed it and haven't seen it since it went off the air in 2015. My opinion has not changed, it remains an outstanding example of what can be done pushing the boundaries of commercial TV with excellent writers and story line. I never saw repeats and it has only been available on pay-per-view at outrageous prices so I was quite pleased to find it on Netflix for their low price. If you have Netflix and this type of story line interests you, take the time and watch it. It is a treat, if somewhat gruesome and depressing. -- Al
