Thank you Buster, Martyn, Scott, Brad, Mike, Jeff, and John for your kind birthday wishes. It is really hard for me to believe that I have been around for three quarters of a century. I still think of myself as half that old although there is considerable evidence to the contrary.

I am getting myself some toys as you suggested. In fact, I have 15 Hiriart sets for me that arrived just in time for my birthday. I am posting photos of them in the Hiriart section and will, at some point, in the collections section as well, if you would like to see them.

Thank you Wolfgang and Al. What could be better than spending the day with my wife, Jean, and my eight-year-old granddaughter, Chloe. We bought her toys and clothes at Target and then we ate a marvelous Italian lunch at Mangia Bene.

I had dinner with Bob, his mother, and Fred (a fellow toy soldier collector) Saturday night and he surprised me with a birthday present of this double set of Hiriart 1912 Balkan War Turkish Infantry. It is a great set, but I didn't expect a birthday present from him and certainly not one that cost $300.
