Thanks Howard, Robin and all the others for your kind thoughts on this, my 70th !!!

As far as a dinner treat, we went out last night to get away from 'Trick or treat' to a local Italian Restaurant for dinner.

This morning we are going over to my daughter's home and have a morning tea 'blow out the candles' with the grandkids in Perth, and with the other daughter and grandkids on their farm, 450kms SW of of us, they have just commenced harvesting so can't come up, hence a SKYPE B'day gathering.

Then it's off to lunch at 'The Raffles Hotel' .... yes an iconic hotel by the Swan River.

That wasn't my first choice though, mine was 5 hours (flying) north of us ........ 'THE RAFFLES" on Beach Rd in Singapore, so I have to go for 2nd best in this current situation, and pencil that one in for a later date ????

Cheers,
John

Agree John, I would love to go back to the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and soak up the history again. Robin.

Well, welcome to the 70's club (I am a few ahead of you) and a happy birthday to boot. I really have to respond to your reference to Raffles in Singapore. Had a few drinks at the bar on business trips to Penang. Always enjoyed my time in Singapore, and Raffles was the treat.

Happy Birthday belatedly, John. May you enjoy many many more years of figure modeling, painting and collecting.

It's not belated, it is still Sunday here, and I appreciate your wishes about many more years of painting and collecting. There are a few others in this Forum who hope that same as I have work booked up for them in the coming year, as well as big 'load of lead' awaiting my 'lick of paint' :)

Thanks,
John

Happy Bday John....wish you all the best...

John,
Do not under estimate the load of lead coming...
But more than that, we appreciate your out of the box thinking, in depth lnow how and historical accuracy...

John mate,
You are too modest. The work you have done for me over many years has been nothing but "bloody outstanding cobber". For your intel, 4 x K&C 106mm RCL and U.S. crew members for conversion to Aussie will be heading your way about mid week.

Cheers Howard
