Too often we hear about the "acquistions" that went awry for a varied amount of reasons - seldom do we hear of the good transactions. A short while ago I posted here that I was looking for K&C #HK089 Chinese Moon Gate. Forum member Mark Sable (marksable) sent me an email informing me he had one that he would be willing to sell. While discussing the transaction for the Moon Gate, I asked Mark if he might also have HK074 Chinese Pagoda, and IC027 Imperial Gateway. You can imagine my excitement when Mark said that in fact he had these other pieces too and that they were also for sale. We came to an agreement on the purchase price for all the sets. Payment was quickly paid to Mark and he quickly sent the items via UPS. I received the three pieces this morning in a very well packed, sturdy container. Each piece was in "Like-new/mint" condition. The entire transaction was as easy as you could ever want with a very happy and satisfying result. I just want to say thank you Mark - you made my day much brighter.

I'll add to that, Mike...between December and January, I purchased a good size lot of Britains and K&C Napoleonics from Mike Estell. I was not at that time a forum member, but found his posting in the collector's classifieds here.

Over the past 10 years, I must have purchased literally thousands of figures through Ebay and other online auctions. But I can never recall anyone taking quite as much care and follow through with communication in order to ensure that I was satisfied. Mike's figures were beautifully kept, all boxes in good order, packaged with the care of delicate crystal.

The transaction could not have been smoother (and Mike's figures were very, very reasonably priced). It is trades like that that make collector trading a joy. Thanks, Mike...you are not only a great trader, but a gentleman.

I have a story.I didn't make this public as some people are modest and don't want the limelight but the story is that when I joined the Jenkins collectors club the Lt.Jenkins figure was broken so my dealer sent me another. That too was broken.I really only wanted the Lt.Jenkins figure as it was the first figure in the new collectors club but I didn't want to contact my dealer again. As it really didn't suit my needs I put them up for sale. One of the members contacted me and bought my figures saying he would get them fixed.I didn't think nothing of it and then a couple of months later I get a PM from this member saying that he had the figures fixed by Jenkins and was sending them back to me and he didn't want a dime for them.He said he could see that I was a "good":D:rolleyes::eek:person.I couldn't believe that someone would do that for someone he had never meant.Mestall GAVE me a BM-02 because I wanted one bad and couldn't afford it.Tom Dubel sold a lot of stuff for me on ebay and wouldn't take a dime for it.There are many many good people here.I feel very sorry for the man who lost $765.I can imagine his disappointment but there are some really great people here.

I too have had good dealings thus far on here. Bernard had bought some household cavalry and didn't need them so sold them to me for what he paid, got a great deal, everything arrived in great condition and a timely fashion.

As I mentioned on a now closed thread, I have had nothing but great results with anybody I have dealt with on this forum, either buying or selling. There are a great deal of real gentlemen here. May it always stay so. -- Al

Same here.

It is a shame when these bad situations occur. I too have bought many items from people on the forum. Even when I got a damaged figure once, the seller was very nice about it. I just repaired it and kept it though. Mostly, this is a super group of people and a tremendous resource.

I agree; my experience here has also been extremely positive. All of my transactions have been satisfactory and nearly all have been superlative. I would mention some but I am afraid I might miss someone that merits the praise.

Hi Mike.

Thanks very much for sharing your happy transaction with us.

The vast majority of transactions go very well and nothing is ever said.

The timing of your post could not be better.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

I too have purchased many Zulu Britains items from Mike, and the transactions were great, the items were well packaged and above all Mike was great to deal with.

Mark Sable is a Top Notch Guy - always a pleasure to do business with !! :D

Thanks Mike (and Ron) for posting such nice things about me.

As both a buyer and seller I've had universally great dealings with forum members (forgive me for not listing them all).

When I've bought items the sellers have taken great care in packing them, been honest and fair, and in the rare instance when an item was damaged refunded my money without any hassle. When I've had to sell items it's nice knowing they are going to someone who genuinely wants and appreciates them. And that's not including all the forum members who have given me good help and advice.

I've only been in this hobby for a little over a year, and this board has contributed greatly to my enjoyment thus far. I'm very much hoping to get to finally meet some members in person at the West Coaster.

thanks again - Mark

If it wasn't for a certain forum member(Cheers Joe)i would still be looking for my V1 on the ramp and fueling crew and he was so patient waiting for me to get the cash together arrived in no time and in Perfect condition.Since ive had nothing but great transactions on here so i go here first and ebay last now.
