Hardest thing I have ever built...Trojan Horse... (2 Viewers)

Mike

I think you sell yourself short, this is brilliant and if you ever put it up for sale I reckon it would get snapped up real quick! Nice pic's as well mate.

Mike,
I'm not kidding.
Like other members mentioned. This is one amazing piece of work. And this is a Trojan Horse, most likely as close to the "real thing" back then, as could ever be imagined :wink2: :smile2:
Love it! Love it! Love it!
Konrad

Mike, your effort really paid off on this. It looks great and hope you use it in one of your dioramas. Just top notch. Chris

I can't begin to express how thankful I am for all the encouraging comments...I wasn't sure how this would be received...when someone makes something that is accepted as "well done" in the eyes of his peers...it is extremely gratifying and very motivational...so thanks to everyone for the "likes"...the flattering comments and the encouragement...here are some detail pics...

I have a few little odds and ends to fix...the closeups of the camera show all the flaws...^&grin...I need to finish off the bottom of the horse's hooves...and a few other spots...but I wanted to thank everyone that took the time to comment personally...

Amazing work, pure genius

Brian...thanks for the kind words...

Words fail me Mike Saying "excellent job" seems inadequate.

Very impressive.

Brad

Brad...thanks for the nice comment...

Mike that is a fantastic represention of the Trojan horse.Never put down your skills as you are as good as most. One question,Where is the tail?
Mark

Mark...thank you...I was actually going to add ears...eyes and a tail...with the tail being removable...but decided not to...

Outstanding work once again...a lot of detail...love the rolling timbers !

Scale (based upon olde recollections of how many it would hold) looks great.

Great deal of "man hours" I'm sure...Huge commitment.

Probably looks more like a horse than the 'original' would have.

What flavor "Popsicles" ?

Thank you.

Ivanhoe...thank you for the encouraging words...

Wow Mike........what an undertaking that must have been!! So that's where you've been lately.

This turned out great in my opinion. Nice craftsmanship if you ask me!

What's next on your hobby to-do list I wonder??

Mark

Mark...thank you for the flattering comment...I have so many cuts on my index fingers from them hitting the grinder...I think I'm just gonna sit and watch for a while...

Mike...top job. :salute:::salute:: But you forgot Brad Pitt who is after all a bit wooden....^&grin
Wayne.

Wayne...thanks...I love that show...when he fought the opposing King's champion...that was a cool scene...

A remarkable job, Mike. Dedication and skill shows through. -- Al

Al...thanks for taking the time to send a compliment...

That is a sweet looking Giraffe Michael.................HAHA Just kidding, more amazing work for the dio master !

Scott...that was my biggest fear...that he only looked like a horse to me...thank you...

Very nice interpretation of the legend.
Steve

Steve...appreciate the kind words...

Now THAT is something you don't see everyday. Wow, great concept and execution. Chris

Chris...thank you...it is unique...I saw one years ago...maybe by Figarti...or AeroArt...but I don't think it was ever produced...

I find that unbelievable good !!!
Outstanding !!!

Konrad

Konrad...thank you for the nice comment...

This...is...OUTSTANDING!

You've got to take this to the Kings X show, Mike! The public needs to see this in person.

"Now, if we built a large wooden badger..."

Prost!
Brad

Brad...thanks for the compliment...it is going to San Antonio...

Mike:

That is ridiculously incredible.

Best,
Jason

Jason...thanks...I appreciate you're taking time to comment...

Congratulations, amazing work!.....I also build some stuff for dioramas and I know it takes long, long time.....How many hours work for your Troyan Horse?

Poppo...thank you...yes...most of the things modelers make is a labor of love...

Mike

You certainly outdid yourself this time. Great looking recreation of the horse the Greeks gifted the Trojans.

Thanks for sharing
OD

OD...thank you for the compliment...

Mike,

Are you bringing it to the TTSS?

John your neighbor

John...yes...I will see you there...with no dinner this year...we need your son to fetch us desserts from somewhere...^&grin...

Mike

I think you sell yourself short, this is brilliant and if you ever put it up for sale I reckon it would get snapped up real quick! Nice pic's as well mate.

Tom

Tom...thanks...you know from modeling your large diorama...we both probably always look back at the finished product and wish we had done something better...our own worst critics I'm sure...

Mike,
I'm not kidding.
Like other members mentioned. This is one amazing piece of work. And this is a Trojan Horse, most likely as close to the "real thing" back then, as could ever be imagined :wink2: :smile2:
Love it! Love it! Love it!
Konrad

Konrad...thank you again...your mental version of this mythical tribute to the Trojans is probably pretty much in sync with my imagination...

Mike, your effort really paid off on this. It looks great and hope you use it in one of your dioramas. Just top notch. Chris

Chris...thank you for the kind words...

Mike I think I can get you about 50 orders for Trojan horses.{eek3}Just kidding.^&grin
Mark

Mike, no doubt the Trojan Horse has to be one of the most interesting builds posted on this forum, congrats on creating such a fine piece...Sammy

It may well be the hardest thing you have ever attempted, but it certainly came out looking a treat.Congratulations, well done.

I must say it's very impressive Mike and must have been a real fiddle putting it together and getting it to sit comfortably on all fours.

Really like how you've aged the timbers too.

Awesome work mate!{sm4}

Quite a variety of dioramas there Mike, and all equally as good. My favourite though, is the barge and the wooden horse. I think that's what it would have looked like if the story is true. Well done, Regards Greg.

Hi Mike,
very difficult to decide, they are all brilliant! Thanks for sharing {sm4}

Mike, brilliant work on the Trojan Horse! Also love these other pieces/scenes you've shown here. Sorry I'm not going to be at the Texas Show otherwise I probably would have been all over some of these.
