Yep i do gotta love anything grey, well in German vehicles...........{sm3}I know Wayne will love it!!!! it does seem strange with alot of collectors asking for more "grey" that more are not produced...Sammy
Mitch,
thanks for sharing your craft with us, I hope that I can emulate that in the future with some items that Wayne is interested in getting 'greyed'.
Can you let me know what paint you use?
What did you use for the highlights?
Any tips will be MOST welcome,
thanks for sharing this with us,
John
Very nice Mitch! I don't recognise the vehicle. Must be before my collecting time started. What is the K&C ID No.? Do you have any before photos you could post as a comparison? Anything grey or in desert colours is good for me. Best regards. Rob
Hi Treefroggers,
Especially those “Grey Fans”…like you, I also love early war field grey fighting vehicles…For the record Andy does too. That’s why K&C has produced more of them than the rest of our competitors combined!
However here’s a little fact…Camouflage (in all its variants) outsells grey easily by a factor of at least 3 to 1…Even Afrika Korps desert outsells field grey!
Now don’t get all gloomy and grey about these figures…One of the reasons we began SERIES 250 was to provide additional colour options for at least some of our vehicles. So, will K&C do more? Yes, definitely…Exactly which ones will we do…that is the question…Watch this space!
Best regards,
Gordon C. Neilson
P.S. Ever notice how “Vezzolf” always manages to get a little “dig” at K&C…he really should change his moniker to… “Mr. Negativity”.

Mitch-
nice work buddy, looks less evil in grey {sm3}{sm4}
Seriously though, you are very talented. You do exceptional work.
Guys...
Thank you for the comments very kind. Hopefully heres the answer for the questions:
Debrito...When I repaint grey variants I always use brush instead of an airbrush. I get a better texture to the AFV and, I know you can use the modulation process with an airbrush but, I find I use my airbrush for the camo patterns on german AFV's and buildings only. I use Vallejo paints but, mostly I use Humbrol No79 grey for the colour adding a little white to get the right colour I think field grey was. I use different colour vallejo paints yellow red green blue etc and put small dots of these colours on the AFV and blend in with white spirit. I also use a blue for panzer grey wash from Mig which gives a nice touch to the flat grey. its either or of the above as each give a great effect.
Obee... I prefer (a personal preference) vallejo iraqi sand for highlighting the rivets panels etc but, I also use a lot of washes home made and bought again, all mig or vallejo or, a new variant AK interactive for higlights. I have seen your work so, not much wrong there or much I can help you with its always superb.
Sentaapua..
All the stuff I show is commissionm work and, its not at all expensive.
Guy...
Its a K&C WSS 103 variant so, under the banner of 1/30th
Mitch
Thanks Mitch for the explanation. Allow me to make another remark, what about add some dust and rusty textures, I think that will give a dirt and use look from the WAR....
Great job
Regards
