Heco Tinplate Models (2 Viewers)

My RFC Mechanics Shop diorama and the V1, Machinery and Crew for the launch ramp diorama arrived safely today :smile2: (despite the "Greygoose" carboard box they were shipped in looking a bit the worse for wear - apparently Clive must have ticked off his local Fed Ex guy!{sm2}{sm3}{sm4})

Again, I can't thank Clive enought for searching out Heco for me in Europe, then taking the trouble to pack it safely enough to survive angry Fed Ex personnel, and get it to me so quickly. Clive, mate, I owe you one.:wink2:

Clive obtained what looks like a Heco WWI Mark I British Tank with a commander in the hatch for me. I swapped him a Heco Control Tower with windsock for it.

Today at the Gettysburg Show, one of the dealers told me he had a Heco Tinplate French 75 & Limber. I await photographs and hope to close the deal shortly.

A French 75 and limber sound like a really neat set. Is it a WW1 set and will there be pictures? What a great get this would be. -- Al

Sadly the French 75 turned out to be by a French Manufacturer called "SR". The British Mark I Tank with commander, however, more than makes up for any disappointment.:smile2:

Plus the gentleman with the French 75 is giving me some contact information for other collectors he believes have Heco they may be willing to part with.:wink2:

The Heco V1 Launch Ramp arrived safely today (when Clive packs something, it stays packed!:wink2:) and it is HUGE!!!{sm4} Definitely my most impressive piece of Heco to date.

Wow, Louis
That was quick, it only left my house 3.00pm on monday.
Mind you judging by the size of the ramp it probably had a seat of it's own on the plane.
That's pronbably been the biggest parcelling challenge I've had.
Louis has now cornered the market on packing peanuts!!:smile2:

Where are you going to deploy this beast?

Regards
Clive

Clive,

I set the ramp up this morning. I had a Penemunde secret rocket base set up on a table against the front side of the Chimney near the back of the main room, with the V2 Rocket Platform diorama, the little V1 Refueling Diorama, two V1 Buzzbombs and 2 Tiger Tanks. On either side of the space between that Chimney and the wall, I had two display cases, one full of Heco, the other full of Honour Bound vehicles. The ramp fit perfectly atop the two display cases, across the gap between the two cases, and it all comes together nicely as one big vengeance weapon set up.

Truth be told, I wish I had bought the Figarti Buzz Bombs, launch ramp and launch ramp extension, because I have the Figarti V2 sets, including the refueling truck and the command vehicle, as well as several of the different Figarti Tiger Tanks, and I would love to have Kevin take comparison photos of both set ups.

Thanks again for all your help with obtaining the two dioramas and the Mark I Tank, and I will ship out your control tower later today.:smile2:

We need photos with it all set up Louis.
The tank should leave here friday and no worries, it's a pleasure, I enjoy the hunt.
Regards
Clive

I wish Kevin was well enough to come visit, because my photos just don't do these little (and sometimes big) works of art justice. Wouldn't it be fun to get everyone together at my house over a hot and summy week this summer, and do a photo shoot for a Heco book in my back yard like the one we did for the K&C books?:smile2:

My British WWI Mark I tank arrived safely today (thanks Clive!) and I am very pleased with it. In addition to being quite a nice tinplate model, it comes with a full body commander figure which I had previously seen in an old Heco advertisement but had not seen in person yet.^&cool I will have to get some photos to Brad with a polite request that he post them for me.:smile2:

Has anybody come across any castings of figures by "Merlin Castings" - I recently discovered Tony Williams did business under this name as well.

I found a Heco Tinplate V1 Buzzbomb on a cart. I already have three, plus two dioramas to go with them, so I am going to pass. However, if anyone is interested, let me know, and I will put you in touch with the seller.

Picked up a really terrific Heco Tinplate Bristol two seat biplane in desert markings today . . . photos to follow on receipt.:wink2:

Vectis confirmed I won the Heco Bristol biplane, so, based on my track record with them, I should receive it in about a month . . .:rolleyes2:

My Heco Bristol Biplane arrived today. It is a very interesting piece - it is obviously very early production, but the detail, including thread used to fully rig the guide wires, is very advanced. I am wondering if it might be a prototype. I will take some photos later and forward them to Brad with a polite request that he post them on this thread.:smile2:

I just won an ebay aucton for a nice Heco Nieuport 17 in the identical baby blue and yellow markings as the one Michael (Maddadicus) picked up a few months ago. Photos to follow of the British Mark I Tank, the new Bristol biplane and the Nieuport upon receipt of the Nieuport (the others are already here, but I'll do the photos at the same time).:wink2:
