HIRIART French Military Parade, 1914 (1 Viewer)

Here is a photo of a set I have not posted before. It is set 1308 THE ROYAL SCOTS LOTHIAN at present arms. There are actually nine figures in the set, but you get the idea. There is also an earlier catalog version of this unit, set 1120, where the firgures are marching.

Here is a photo of a set that is completely out of character for the 340 sets in Hiriart's catalog. It is set 1224 MEDIOEVALES-SIGLO XV or Medieval Knights- 15th Century.

Patron3085 has a non-catalog set EGYPTIAN ARTILLERY GUN TEAM on eBay today for $350 plus $50 shipping. He also listed set 1261 INDIAN MOUNTAIN ARTILLERY, KHYBER PASS (with oxen) on Wednesday for $250 plus $50 shipping. In case you are wondering, I do not know him and never had any contact with him, but he has one heck of a Hiriart collection which puts mine to shame by comparison.

I just received Part 2 of my Hiriart Order #7 today. In addition to the 50 sets in the shipment, there was an updated catalog CD which has several new photos, including:

1014 THE WELSH REGIMENT

1054 THE DUKE OF CORNWALL'S LIGHT INFANTRY

1123 WW I THE KING'S LIVERPOOL VOLUNTEERS

I did not have photos of these three sets until now. Also, I have posted two new photos under the Hiriart Spanish Civil War thread.

Here are three more sets I received yesterday.

1100 THE CAMERON REGIMENT, COLONIAL

1112 THE ROYAL IRISH FUSILIERS

1117 THE HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY

In the past, I either had not posted photos of these sets before or the photos I posted were from eBay or other sources. These are the correct stock catalog photos.

Here is another non-catalog set from Hiriart---FRENCH COLONIAL ARTILLERY. I am wondering what other sets (e.g., Italians?) could be made from these castings without making major modifications. I always need more artillery. Any suggestions?

I love the Hiriart French military series, but it is incomplete without the most famous gun of them all; the French 75mm of WW1. Could be done in early war dark blue uniforms, with kepi, and the later war Horizon Blue, with helmets. -- Al

Those are lovely sets Mike.I like the RA band very much.

Damian,

It is a great set. Some day I will probably order it, but keeping up with Hiriart is difficult to do with 340 sets in their regular catalog, another 40 sets in their Spanish Civil War catalog, plus maybe another 100 non-catalog sets like the RHA band. I am some where north of 200 sets in my collection, but I can't have them all. The RHA Colour Party set has got me to thinking about ordering, in the future, a series of smaller (i.e., two flags and 2 colour sergeants) sets of British regiments.

Al,

I, too, am very fond of Hiriart's French military series. Since I have the very fine Britains Premier set with the French 75mm gun, I have not asked Hiriart to make this set for me. I do have a Hiriart non-catalog World War I German Artillery Gun Team set and plan to order their set 1246 World War II German Artillery Gun Team, both with German 77mm guns. I believe the set 1259 Turkish Artillery Gun Team set also has this gun. So while the German gun is well represented, the contemporary French gun is not.

Al,

Although these are not French artillery sets with the 75mm guns, there are two Hiriart versions of World War I pack artillery with mountain guns.

Many thanks for posting the set pictures, Mike. They are gorgeous sets. The Chasseurs are great. Love the particular Chasseur uniforms. In fact, I love anything in the way of the early war French uniforms which is why I have enjoyed these threads so much. Thanks. -- Al

Thanks Mike. That is very kind of you. There would be several sets of interest but I cannot do anything real soon. Is the French staff officer set #1052 also available? In general, what are the sets priced at? Thanks, Al
