Thought I would start the thread rolling just to be ahead of the curve. So anyone notice anything they wish to decry? Here is the place to do so. Courtesy of your friendly neighborhood kilted vampire.:p

I take strong exception to the glasses on the one prone trooper. Also KV- I believe there was discussion regarding the placement of the logs on the Priest. I believe someone came to the conclusion that those were the M1946 version which could not have been used on a vehicle in theater in 1944 {sm4}{sm3}

Hey Chris, I'm pretty sure those logs on the Priest were balsa wood, used in fording rivers and such, to provide buoyancy. Sometimes the logs were plastic, filled with helium, but these type didn't withstand field use very well. {sm3} -- Al

Can you believe someone yesterday actually stated that the logs must be real wood and not made of Polystone, you couldn't make it up!

Hey Wayne-

I did get a kick out of your post and do believe you are on to something there....{sm4}

I do think that Churchill figure does look slightly gangsterish. Perhaps a future "Al Capone" line could be coming down the pipes........{sm4}

The equipment belts and weapon slings are the wrong color (always have been) They should be the same color as the canteen covers. I'm sure they do this so that the GIs don't look so drab, but they were.

I go by what I have of the real stuff, and I have a lot of it. Passed down to me from an Anzio vet.

The ACW line has always been a little to colorful as well....But the figures are so GOOD!!!

Funny thing is, military issue glasses are quite a sight to behold (no pun intended). They have really thick black frames and didn't do my otherwise Apollo-like image any good when I was in training. ^&grin They were affectionally known as RPGs- Rape Prevention Glasses!! {sm2}{sm4}

Funny, we called them "BC (Birth Control) glasses"

WS-168 and WS-173. It looks like those soldiers are wearing the "44 Dot" or Erbsenmuster camoflage helmet covers.

Of course, they have had those.

I do re-enacting of the 2nd Ranger Battalion 1944-45 and I wear glasses, however mine are very thin and gold in colour, but they are huge and do take up the size of my face!:)
