Honour Bound Pics (1 Viewer)

Ana,

You get an A + from me (as I'm sure many others) on those plans. Quite thought provoking.

I think your plans are brilliant: you are making unusual and interesting vehicles that a company like K&C (which is looking to sell around 1,000 or more of each set) is unlikely to produce, in the exact, unusual size that K&C has made so popular with WWII collectors. Thus, you will reap the benefit of selling to the K&C collector (who will be unable to obtain these specialty vehicles in this scale from their primary collecting source) without competing with K&C directly (i.e. Andy will not produce most of the vehicles you indicate you plan to produce). I await a physical inspection of your products, but if the vehicles are as nice in person as they appear to be on the website, I am sure that I will be buying at least one of each different vehicle you produce.

I believe you (Honour Bound) have found a business model that should be profitable. I believe that collectors not only want the commonly available versions (like how many companies can make a Tiger I or a Sherman?). The smaller production run models from WWII have some very interesting roles that they played in the war. Mobile kitchens, radio carriers, and other specialty vehicles would truly add historically to any diorama or display. I thank you for this great new addition to our hobby (I just hope you deliver what you have discussed in this thread; I am assuming you will so I am saving my money). Oh no, the voices are at it again. They tell me that I must keep collecting Napoleonic's. I must resist and begin collecting WWII again. I must resist, I must resist... Oh heck, I'll just collect 'em both. Now if I could just figure out a way to collect the Egyptians and make them look natural in a WWII or Napoleonic display...... :) Michael

Michael,

What if Honour Bound decides to make Napoleonics? Man, you'll be in serious trouble then

In trouble, have you seen the 1/24 scale Holz Modell Bau and Lineol diecast vehicles? All the other miniature stuff that are works of art. I was in trouble the day my family gave me a toy soldier when I was a little boy sometime in about 1952 or 3. :) Michael

Michael,

Listen to the voice in your head. The Old Guard needs reinforcements. You can never buy enough Napoleon. You need more all collections must be sacrificed so that your Napoleonic army can conquer the world. By the way when are we going to see a picture of your great army?

On a more serious note I am also impressed by what I see from Honor Bound. I do collect the WWII desert war along with the K&C Napoleonics. I also have a couple of D-Day WWII sets that need a Panther. Might need to save up….I know no more food for the family.

Ana,

I hate to be one of those saying "I'd like to see this or I'd like to see that" but I would love to see a Beford lorry or an Austin car. Andy made three special Bedfords for Louis and the other two persons who put on the Symposium last year (Larry Lo and Hans Hedrich), but has no present plans to make anymore and he brought some Austin prototypes to the Chicago Show but again with no present plans to make any more. I would love to see you make these, assuming it fits into your plans. I know collectors would be very, very interested in these.

Note taken, Brad. Thanks! Really great suggestions that definitely fit in our plans.

We had the Opel mechanic workshop track in our near future plans, that will be released with the Opel Moultier, anti-aircraft, transport, and ambulance version.
We'll just need to figure out the technique to be able to produce them with a hollow cabin and transparent windows without this meaning an increase of the price. The boyz are working on this. I'll keep you posted.

The Bedford and the Austin will be added to our list (they've already been :D ). Also the Morris, the Mamut, etc.

Thanks,

Ana

Ana,

Just a quick question. Will your products be limited runs, done over a time frame and then retired (Like K&C) or done as a line product and not retired (such as Conte & Frontline).

I've pre-ordered my Barkmann's Panther, just wondering when I have to order the other 2 Panthers in what is going to be an expensive year for my wallet. I'll just have to sell my Wife's Scrapbooking material on Ebay.

On the other hand, I won't be able to add to my collection after she had killed me.

I might have to sell my old winter 88.($1000 (£600) Lots of new K&C and Honour Bound)

No I can't bring myself to do that either.

Regards,

Andy (Member of the mid 30's with kids gang)

Andy,

The products will be line ones. That means that it won't be limited. Anyway, the molds need to be remade every 75 pieces or so, so we will be remolding while the productions sells with regularity. Once that the sales of the set has lowered considerabily (for example, the annual sales go down to 4 or 5), so we retire it from the market, since remolding is not worth it any more.

So take it easy and don't sell anything else. Take your time.

Now you'll have to figure out how are you going to find the patience to wait. Specially if we release 3 or 4 sets bimonthly :D

Take care ;) ,

Ana

Ana,

Thank you. Everything you've said is making collectors all over quite excited.

Hi Ana,

With all you have said I may well get back into WWII although it will probably have to occupy another room away from my Durbar sets:rolleyes:

I am really very interested in the odd vehicles you mentioned are you looking at a Flail Tank or one of the other "funnies" from D-Day?

Have a great day

Dave

All the 'oddies' and the 'funnies' are included in our plans, Dave (

Welcome Honour Bound and Ana and Daniel to a new adventure. First off like everyone has said the pictures of your first releases look great. I'm waiting for the actual release and comments from others to see if this is something that I might add to my collection. I think your future ideas for releases will sway many of the K&C collectors for that different piece that they might want to add to there collection as Louis has already pointed out. As I posted in another thread I would like to see crews of vehicles in more of a battle field pose instead of the relaxed poses that we see more often in other manufactures. Just food for thought. There is a place and time and I realize that the battles were not going on 24/7 but..... Anyways best of luck.....

You're already whetting my appetite. Hollow cabin and clear windshield will be great! I don't mind the price so long as you can reproduce the model closest to the real ones. Are the following models - M3A2 U.S. Half Track, Dodge WC54 Ambulance and GMC 2 1/2 Ton Truck (closed cab w/ removable tarp) in the offing?

N-P

Thanks for the good wishes, Fullyautomatic. You are right about the poses: they were waiting for the enemy at Barkmann's Corner, that's why the poses weren't so much 'in action' ones. But we'll have in action sets too. In due time.

N-P: The models that you suggest were in our wish list. Now are in our future releases one :D
