Please ......... pretty please ?? ......

Just think, I would buy the panzer riders if they were riding eastwards to fend against the slavic hordes.

I dunno how the whole Eastern Front campaigns could be ignored.

Will the Easter Bunny bring Russians instead of eggs ??

Here here! K&C will never visit the Stepps again. So, who's left, Figarti, First Legion? Come on Brian...throw the dog a bone. Pretty please? :tongue:

Set compositions please? Also armor, how well would it do?

Why not have a post poll ie TFers post what they want.I would suggest that K&C sometimes fail as they insist on telling THEIR story rather than letting the purchaser tell their own story with the available figures (eg the infamous crapper).

I would suggest
* an "unmarked" early model T34 in green (allowing multiple purchases)
* tank riders/ jumpers in either/ both helmets/ russian hats
* generic standing/ kneeling firing to allow the purchaser to build up some numbers
* generic hand grenades/ running similar to Figarti ??
* A decent officer figure (if you want inspiration look at the new Tamiya figures).
* What about the Russian gun tractor to pull some artillery ??
* artillery with two separate gun crews for variety ??

I'm trying to be realistic with the above list. I would suggest that "low runs" with other producers have been caused by primitive production, decal markings that have reduced sales and limited figure appeal.

The K&C figures were always going to be about the "Fall of Berlin" and therefore were immediately limited in their scope.

Just my thoughts but it IS the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Russia and the manufacturers are veeeeeery quiet.

everyone will want the T-34 either 76 or 76/85 variants but, what about KV1 or KVII I don't think I remember these ever being done in the scale we are discussing. This also allows the green variants for summer but also winter washed variants and, tank riders or jumpers and loaders as add on sets.

For me I see a void needing to be addressed as momentum is growing even on here for sets to place against all the german stuff

Good ideas. T-34's and KV-1's with the CS options of thrown tracks or destroyed/damaged turrets would be great. I wouldn't mind seeing some Russian figure sets of surrendering soldiers that would include wounded and KIA. -- Al

I think that's a great idea. As so many people already have K&C FoB Germans...a column of 8 or so Russian POW's (bareheaded conscripts please) marching to the rear would be a quick way to get into Barbarossa '41. I think even the more conservative of German collectors might bite on a simple purchase like Russian PoWs for a temporary change of setting for their FoB series. And the more enthusiastic would probably repaint a DAK vehicle or two to augment their collection, like the PzIIIH.

For Russian tanks, I'm thinking T-34 (40 or 41) or KV-2, but again, captured with the Russian crew being taken prisoner so the collector could focus on the more popular & prevalent German pieces out there. Making Russians in attack mode to stand on their own would be a risky venture imo. What I'm saying is that the best chance for pre-Berlin Russians is to put them in a surrendering context so as to accessorize the Germans.

Great to see other members thinking ahead :)

I suggested generic attacking Russians and unmarked T34s (with riders) to complement the already existing "Fall of Berlin" Germans. A Barbarossa range would certainly be on my shopping list- although I realise it would be a stretch of imagination for some collectors.

Sorry, I still can't understand why 1/2 of a major campaign doesn't exist. I can imagine the outrage if the following had occurred:
* Romans vs NOTHING
* DAK vs NOTHING
* 1815 BRitish vs NOTHING
* Confederates vs NOTHING

just my thoughts

I agree they need to expand in WW2. Stop making the same armor in winter or summer/fall etc. work on different time frames of WW2 take a lesson from KC. I think Collectors showcase can be a lot better.

T-34/76 for starters, offered in winter and summer paint. Russians to run alongside the tank like you see in the films. Focus on Kursk and Stalingrad.

I'm not sure who's providing the lesson to who. K&C has been in DAK for years & has never made the iconic Pz IVF2 Special, Hanomag 251 troop carrier, and Flak 88. CS did them all within about a year's time

From the comments on many threads, whoever makes WWII Russians that are compatible with K&C figures will make a "killing". Late war street fighting figures would be great but also summer figures that go with German grey wouldn't go astray.

I think there is ample room for some Russian sets. I would be more inclined to really test the waters but my goodness WWII was really fought on the Eastern front lets face it.

I just finished the Chris Bellamy book and wow what a story right? The Germans: Diverted to the Caucases , then snaffoo'd at Kursk and mulched finally all the way back to Berlin! Can a story get any more dramatic?

I guess the only way to try it is to go for it a bit right? The issue now is this: two more historical periods are being added ( the first to be announced quite soon ). So how much of the production budget can be grown for what is essentially a new period? Eastern front would have to sort of " get in line " and that means nothing till late 2011.

Anyhow I hope my candor is understood by all. Its got to work in the context of the business, but heck I like it!

Yeah, I find 1942 the most interesting year. Not just the battles, but the intelligence failures on both sides that created by Winter a vacuum in the battlefield the size of Maine- with the Germans racing to get fresh divisions in from France before the Stalingrad pocket collapsed & released all those Russian armies.

The year begins with Adolf stripping AG North & Center to build up a for decisive attack in the South-literally his last shot. Stalin loses a big army at Kharkov in May, and a big tank battle at Voronezh in June & herds everything else he has around Moscow.

Adolf rolls over the south so smoothly that all of Germany thinks the USSR is finished and as soon as they hit the Volga, it's time to start organizing the Victory Parade in Berlin.

Stalin, who's army still hasn't shown it can win a battle, and is about to lose Stalingrad & Leningrad (Manstein is getting ready to pulverize it just like Sevastopol) as well as the southern oilfields (which would shutter his industry within six months) is calm as could be because he's convinced DDAY is going to happen in France within days or weeks.

Fighting continues & on November 19th the hammer comes down & the Germans are as stunned as we were on day 1 of the Bulge. The Russians are as equally stunned at the magnitude of damage they have inflicted, and for the second winter in a row, the German army is fighting for survival in the East. The cream of the German army is either trapped in Stalingrad or about to be trapped in the Caucasus and naked airfields are supplying the city by air while this massive battle of maneuver shapes up around them with fresh units arriving from both sides.

Hi CS

Eastern front would have to sort of " get in line " and that means nothing till late 2011.

A sincere thank-you. I just got sick of the dismissive attitude of some people- I even saw a comment that someone "didnt like" the Russian uniforms.

A few generic Summer figures (including prisoners, KIA, WIA ,riflemen and runners) would be most appreciated as an initial release.

And yes the first manufacturer will make a killing.
