How do you display your K&C figures? Do you have a man cave/war room? :) (1 Viewer)

I have a spare bedroom that we call the office but is in fact my showroom for my collection.I am very lucky in that i have a wonderfully understanding and supportive wife.;)

At the moment a lot of my collection is in boxes i have my fav sets on display in my bedroom because my room is in the loft & doesn't give me alot of wall space!!! But my Dad is currently extending the house so my room will have plenty of space for cabinets soon :)

Well my man cave is getting a complete remodel job. I have figures and tanks all over my house while my basement gets a major makeover. New electric, lighting including track lights, insulation, new heat and cold air returns and panelling. This is a bigger job then I imagined and then new carpeting in the whole basement. It will be nice when finished.

I have been instructed by my wife of 46 years that it will no longer be a toy soldier whare house or an empty box storage area. I am getting rid of most plastic and playsets. I will bring some to Chicago. Also, I gave away most magazines and other stuff not needed. Major cut-back. I am keeping all metal and K&C stuff. John

I have no dedicated room. Because space is limited, my 600+ metal soldiers, 200+ plastic soldiers, 32 vehicles (21 1/30 scale, 4 FOV, 7 Corgi), 32 aircraft (mostly 1/48) are all displayed on bookshelves. There are four 6' bookcases, four 7' bookcases and a couple of odd size cases. There is one 4' long side table that has my German counter-attack display. The shelves hold my collection as well as about 300 military books. They are in every room but the main bedroom. Boxes are all organized in one walk-in closet. It is the best I can do considering room restrictions. -- lancer

Specifically do you have a room in your house dedicated to the soldiers? Do you keep them in cases or make dioramas for the soldiers or do you keep them packed up in their boxes in the attic somewhere?

I do whatever whenever whereever I want as I am single & intend on keeping it that way. Control is a wonderful thing

Sounds like I've done pretty much the same as you Jfalk. However, for now I just have one bookcase, the bottom 2 are the war library and the top 3 shelves are used for rotating my displays. Right now, I have the Battle of the Bulge (American), Napoleonics (French vs Russians) and the top shelf is my current favorite, the Civil War. All three of which are dioramas. Here I play Company of Heroes (WWII real-time strategy game) and watch my war movies. I'd like to have the walls covered with Don Troiani and Robert Taylor prints, but that idea has been overruled for now. However, my wife is in favor of my getting a bigger and better display case.

I have some art work too, I ordered some prints a long time ago from "Cranston Fine Arts", they used to advertise in the old Military History magazine. One that I have displayed in "the war room" is the battle of Kandahar by Caton Woodville depicting the 92nd highlanders

I am a single fella living in a 2,500 square foot four-bedroom split level single family home with an attached garage.

Downstairs I use the smallest bedroom for empty box storage. I store the empties in many larger boxes that stack better. The room is basically 3/4 full. In the family room are five large media storage shelves (each holds 1,500 cd's) for my FOV and 21st Century AFV collection and my Wm. Britains Regimental band collection. Also in the family room are 5 large dioramas on 4 foot by 8 foot tables. Oh yeah, a TV, couch and chair are down there too (stuffed in a corner). I kept the large bedroom for overnight visits by my son and two daughters and my six grandkids who just love coming to visit with me and my toys.

Upstairs I have one large display cabinet in my bedroom and five large display cabinets in my living room.

I guess you could call my entire home a "man cave" for my collection (about 3/5ths K&C).

I also collect prints of 1930's US Navy Battleships and US Navy Frigates from the "age of sail" and books and music.

Like JFALK I commandeered a room after the kids moved out. Unfortunately they recently moved back in with THE CAT so although the display cabinets and my radio stayed in the room, the dioramas have been temporarily delegated to the basement.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a home office that is all bookcases and military collectibles (mostly Civil War) and toy soldiers. I am in dire need of another display case now, but I don't think the wife is letting me do that for a while. The last one was not cheap. I have one large display case, a small one (actually a bookcase with glass-front doors), and display cases on my desk and in parts of the bookcases. I have had thoughts of using the bonus room instead, but that is for my sports collectibles (mostly hockey).

Holy poo i agree.......LOL His display room is bigger than my house..............

An underconstruction 17X 12 collection room w a walk in closet and bath in the new home. A few cases and shelves up otherwise a sea of boxes ,books etc

Sadly 99% of my collection resides in boxes in the spare room. With very young children in the house I'm fearful of displaying things yet. We also don't have a proper curio. I've only got about a half dozen individual figures on display on a high shelf that I periodically rotate. :(
