Hello everyone I have a friend who inherited his father's collection the collection has hundreds of different figures ranging from collectors showcase to figarti,st Petersburg,w britains, and conte and many more I know for sure he has a complete collection of conte immortals and spartans the valhalla awaits series and their roman line complete with warship get a hold of me for photos and more info at spenceroverbeck@gmail.com thanks

Does he have a Collectors Showcase King Tiger with Porsche turret, preferably Normandy coloration.

If you have a List, or partial list, or even a general outline of what you have, that would help. Otherwise we will all e-mail you looking for our "Holy Grails" (rare & long-desired items). We may also be able to help you figure out price ranges for various sets. This Forum's members are an honest and helpful group, IMHO.
Best of luck for you and your buyers!
Paddy

Instead of selling it piecemeal I’d recommend he try selling it to a dealer. Selling it piece by piece can be a time exhausting endeavor.

A dealer will only offer a fraction of what the collection is actually worth, (maybe 30 to 40%) however if you want the convenience of off loading the entire collection quickly and not too concerned about the return than its the way to go.

Personally I'd be complying a full list of the items with serial numbers and if boxed or not and upload on TF.

If you can get back roughly what the items originally retailed for at the time of purchase then you're doing ok IMO.

Postage and shipping costs are all on the buyer.

Just my five cents worth.

I think Desertkiwi is correct if you have time, Jazzeum if you don't.
There are plenty of resources about Toy Soldier values. I usually just check ebay and trust my luck for the future values...

If you want to try to sell a few things on this Forum we will be glad to help and we will try to pick up some nice items for a good deal - but we will not take advantage. If you're worried that you're getting a bum deal, post the price offered and the experts can give very valuable advice.

Best Wishes & please tell us how it goes,
Paddy

I don’t find selling on the Forum useful. I rarely get any sales. I also find the same to be true when I’m selling CDs or records on the music forums I belong to. If you have the time and are not in any rush, eBay is your best bet. If not, then you should try a dealer but as Desert Kiwi notes you will only receive 40% on the dollar as they need to make a profit too.

I agree Brad, and the strange thing is in this particular case I emailed the seller, and they didn't even bother to respond. It's odd to me to say you have a bunch of things to sell, and then don't even reply when someone expresses interest. So yeah, message board selling is definitely not useful especially when the seller ignores inquiries.

Thanks for the info from the pros.
Listen to them before me.
Best of luck. I'm sure there are some valuable sets in there,
Paddy

Just be aware if a dealer wants the lot don't get ripped off

do your homework first what's on hand and rough idea worth

Just bear in mind in a collection the majority of figures are not highly sort after they most likely have no resale value as no demand.

A person or dealer buying the full collection is going to end up with figures that will be hard to move on or not required for own collection, therefore only natural that purchase price is discounted and is unfair to use ripped off in transaction as both parties don't have to agree to transaction.

Danger in selling individuals is that sort after pieces will go and what is left no one will buy, you need attractive pieces for a collection to be considered by someone looking to buy the lot.

A dealer will also ask for a list. Share post the list by manufacturer to the forum or share photos.
You may get a lot of pm's but you will sell figures.

Providing a list of what's on offer is a good start and having a willingness to negotiate price is helpful, especially in this current market.
