Hurricane Laura... (2 Viewers)

Great news Mike.I wish all people down there could say that.

Absolutely...positively...definitively...utterly...categorically...and without a doubt...
nothing happened at my house...
nada...zil...nilch...

no hurricane and barely a sprinkle of rain around midnight...
the winds were insignificant...
I may have played golf in stronger winds than we got last night...

I have not taken a ride this morning...
but I don't think Galveston Island even got wet...
I actually turned on my yard sprinkler system this morning...

Galveston Island dodged a bullet...
Laura has moved on and I'm putting things back in place this morning..
I'm very happy!

I want to thank everyone for your well wishes and concerns...
lots of nice people on this forum...
thank you!

GREAT news Mike, I sent you an email and was worried I did not get a reply...…………..glad you are ok...……………….nothing worse than mother nature's wrath, you are at her mercy...…………...

it appears to be going into the Louisiana Lake Charles/Texas Beaumont area...
with possible 140 mph winds...
which is about 100 miles from me...
I'm mostly afraid of the flood surge here in Galveston...
which they are now describing as "unsurvivable" in some areas of direct landfall...
maybe 20 feet deep...

I just drove down the Seawall...
the Gulf...it's getting ugly...

to quote George Castanza...

"the seas was angry that day my friend...
like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli"

And now that you're out of the woods; that Seinfeld bit was by far my Dad's favorite...……………"I reached in and pulled out the obstruction"...…….."Is that a titleist?!?!?"...……….

Great news, glad you are safe Mike {bravo}}

Stay that way

Good news, gotta love weather forecasters, but when they are wrong it is usually a good thing!

They desperately need “big stories”.

It seems like every other day the storm of the century is imminent according to the local weather in San Antonio.

Yet there has been no significant rain here in weeks.

Glad to hear the Hurricane didn't come ashore where you are Mike.

Steve
