Im new here and not 100% sure if this is the appropriate place to make such a post, especially to many who collect something completely different than what Im about to post. I have read a few post talking about other items K&C might come out with. It seems that football teams would be an interesting line to create...you would have Players, Coaches, Fields, Camera men, referees, news reporters, carts, antenna men....ect. I surely wouldn't choose it over the army type items but the detail of players and numbered jerseys and such could be very cool and a nice way to fill a shelf in one's display case...of course this collector would most likely not be collecting army type items, that may look abit goofy having the two together...on the other hand a new market of collectors may be created. Maybe have certificates that could be signed by players and such, even though thats not personally my thing I'm sure there are many who would love it. Just something to ponder. O.k don't everyone start throwing tomatoes at me now!

I won't throw tomatoes at you but, you brought back memories from when I was a kid. There was a an electronic football game where you placed plastic figures on a metal "Football field" that vibrated via electric motor to make the "players" move. You could also order figures painted in your favorite pro team's home or away uniform. They also had a sheet of number stickers so that all of your heroes could be represented. I don't think that I would collect them but you brought back a really great memory!! Thanks.

I think that Football should be placed in the same catagory as politicis, religion and other such other topics.

First which code of Football... American Grid-Iron, Soccer, Rugby ( Union or League), Australian Rules, Gaelic... etc. etc. and I'm only listing the codes played in Australia!!

I do recall the CBG Mignot does make the sort of figures you mention, including all the vehicles and civilian crowds, and some even more wonderful Tour de France bikes, vehicles and support items, so lets keep them doing what they do the best, just like K&C doing what they do well.

I'm sure there are still a few more Napoleonic Regiments to produce???

Welcome to the forum!.No tom throwing here ,interesting idea,not sure how popular it would prove around here but all suggestions are equally valid.

Maybe National teams may be more popular than club teams,I doubt its something K&C would do but maybe another producer would take up the challenge.

Copyright would also be an issue especially if they have a number and likeness of a particular player.
Too many codes and too many teams.
Now perhaps if it was based on the POW/Football (soccer) movie Escape to Victory with Stallone, Pele etc it might be of more interest, but again copyright issues.

Andy’s up in China just now so perhaps I can answer on his behalf… Seeing as how I’ve known him all my life (and most his).

Re the “Football Suggestion”… I am assuming that the “poster” means “American Football” as he hails from California.

I’m sorry to pour water on your fire but I think the answer would be an emphatic “NO”… For these reasons…
1. Andy loves history… not sport.
2. Although based in China, we are a British-run company and know absolutely “zilch” about American football!
3. Andy ain’t even interested in British football… not even Rangers and Celtic and we come from near Glasgrow!
4. Plus, there’s too many great and interesting facets of real history that have never been explored yet.
5. We’ve also got all the existing ranges that we’re up to our necks in trying to grow so…

Although we won’t throw any tomatoes we also don’t want to slip on any banana skins either!

I also had that game...nevertheless I was only thinking and picturing two teams lined up in a display case looking like a real football game taking place. Can someone now delete the post, I feel now I have partially corrupted the forum...typical newbie!

You haven't corrupted the forum--you apparently brought back a lot of great memories for some of our members and if everyone thought the same way and brought the same ideas to the forum it would be a very boring place. Considering K&C has done plenty of civilian figures in the past it's not even such a crazy idea. It would definitely cause further arguments about scale though I'm sure if they started with say, the Minnesota Vikings (great choice ) and the first two figures were Antoine Winfield (5'9" 180lbs) and Pat Williams (6'3" 317lbs).

Well there was the football match during the Christmas Day cease fire in World War 1! Also at least two acoounts of foot balls being used to encourage troops going over the top in the big late war offensives.

I might think about a set that was along those lines. POWs playing football behind the wire would be good to.

There are already football action figures; its a huge industry. My grandsons have legions of them. Maybe collecting those will scratch that itch. As for adding them to our corner of the word .... afraid not! (tossing tomato)
