If you could get Andy to Make One Special Item for You . . . (3 Viewers)

M10
Sherman with dozer blade
Sherman With rocket launchers (I can't spell the name of it, Calliope, something like that)
Sherman Recovery Vehicle with mechanics
Market Garden 101St - 82nd - Brit 1st Abn
Waco Glider
Casual figures, men eating in the field, men being blessed by a Chaplain, supply personnel, men playing baseball. MASH etc.

When I first started collecting K&C, I emailed Andy (pre forum days) and asked him if he would produce soldiers doing the everyday things in life; like eating, repairing vehicles, etc. His response was that collectors only want soldiers in a fighting mode. I think we here on the forum have a pretty convincing argument for just what you and I are asking for. Recovery vehicles and soldiers doing the ordinary things that soldiers do.:)

And hay Fishead, how did you get your tag name? And, by the way, you DO NOT want to get me going. Its a pretty weird sight.:p

I completely agree with Sceic2 and Firebat, I attempt to make dioramas and more soldiers doing the ordinary would add a great new aspect.

I'd go for Monty in his Lee Grant or a desert Sherman.

Fishead19690 is my ebay name, when I first joined the forum I wanted to get in touch with louis who was buying something from me on ebay and ebay only lets you type so munch on those contact seller links per day and I knew he was a member of the treefrog site so I used my ebay name so he would know who I was and now my treefrog name SUCKS:p Just call me fish like fubar does. I didn,t even like the name as my ebay name but, every name under the sun has been taken on ebay! Its pretty bad when you have to add 1969 then 19690 to the end of fishead because the others are already taken. I love to fish for stripped bass and wanted something fishing related and fishead seems to be the only thing I could come up with that wasn,t taken without taking 3 days to find an untaken name. So thats how I got the stupid fishead name. I think i,ll join a fishing forum under the name (king&country soildiers) next and look dumb there also.:p

They would make some great diorama subjects. What about those of you that just collect, would figures like this be of interest to you?

I second the motion Firebat. I prefer figures in "at rest" or "on patrol" or "on the defense waiting for the enemy" rather than fighting mode, not that I don't like the latter...its just that you could be more flexible on the former when it comes to diorama set ups.

I am looking in anticipation HB's German Field Kitchen and Panther Tank Recovery Vehicle. I wish they'll also do the U.S. version

I'm with Alex on the Opel Blitz truck. The Opel Blitz 3 ton truck was by far the most commonly used truck in the Wehrmacht.

The possibilities for its use in dioramas are endless.

Would like to see more diorama products and buildings. Just received the Berlin Tenement. Absolutely fantastic structure!

Yes the Opel truck. Now for the real reason for this posting. In your picture that you use for an avitar, which one is you - in the robes?:D :D

Yeah I agree with you guys. The Opel would be cool but I hope it doesn't have the lack of appeal the Bedford does.

Do you think this survey will actually be considered by the BIG GUY(S) or are we just day dreaming? "Get Real" Firebat

Hey Firebat,
You're kinda new, so I'll tell you most of these are rehashes of previous misc. request going back to the very start of the forum and before. Though we may be more lucky with the new companies that are starting to get in to this niche.

Well as long as we're playing fantasy. I considered what Andy might actually make in the real world, versus stuff that I could (maybe) repaint or kitbash, so I think that it comes down to;

A US-type M4A1 Duplex Drive tank for the Normandy beach combat, probably from 743rd (Omaha) or 70th (Utah) tank battalions. The other Omaha unit, the 741st was the one that suffered 90% losses in the water. Anyway, this tank has to be well-modeled, with the screens down, or 2/3 down, as shown in the few photos, with the bronze propellors, the steering tiller on the back, etc. The 70th tank battalion might be the more colorful choice as they used a red turret number with white outline. Figures would be simple, the driver down in his hatch and the TC hunkered down to avoid small-arms fire, but observing for infantry fire support.

This one gets Andy out of his bottle, and gets my troops some firepower on the beach! Combine this with the other assault troops, the DUKW, and (someday?) a revised LCVP and we have an invaision going.

That sounds great....I guess any Sherman variants are possible since the tank is already made....Firebat

I'd very much like Andy to revisit his SP series and do a large rubbled out French farm complex with outbuildings and walls, a modular Russian Factory complex that you could make as large as you wanted (similiar to his first Normandy Village, which was spectacular), several Dutch style buildings including the Hartenstein Hotel and the Oosterbeek gas works (for a reissued Arnhem range....) and the La Breche Strongpoint on Sword Beach.......they would all be massive and visually stunning if done in the famous K & C style...................

I really like the Russian modular factory and a modular sub and a Nebelwerfer with crew!

Hi Guys,

Many thanks to my old pal Louis Badolato for starting up such an interesting K&C thread. It’s fantastic to read your own personal “wish lists” and compare them to my own and K&C’s. I’m delighted to say that several of the key items requested are not only on my own list but are already at the sculpting stage, and even more importantly, in the production schedule for release later this year.

Now, that’s the easy part…the tantalizing bit is exactly which ideas are the ones we’re working on…

Most, if not all, will be revealed at the Chicago Show. Now there’s another great reason for going!

Very best wishes to one and all… and we really do appreciate your input…happy collecting!

Andy C.

P.S. Don’t worry about those futuristic “space items” you may have seen in Steven’s recent photos…we’re not going on a space adventure any time soon. It was great to see him (or any K&C collector) in Hong Kong – always a pleasure.

Rick,

If you are not the one in the robe, exactly who is he and where is this ceremony taking place? He must be someone important to receive such an escort.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

P.S. You look very dignified carrying that sword! Who would know that beneath that distinguished uniform lies a boyish toy soldier collector and expert modeler?
