If you could go back and be a part of military history-When and Where? (2 Viewers)

Brad, here you go..... for the political correctness of the forum

"Mon Emperior - j'ai vu la promenade a' travers les champs de Waterloo et avoir une tasse de the' qvec nos amis les Britannique - qui sont les gen simplement mal compris. "

:D :D :D

We may be misunderstood, but I think we understand where you're coming from perfectly.

OK - without the French Translation:

On the fields of WATERLOO fighting the British. :D

Maybe you could convince Napoleon to bring .... DAVOUT this time instead of cooling his heels in Paris.:D:)

Battle of Thermopylae

But just hovering over the battle - not in it. I ain't that much a man.

With one of the Sirdar's battalions behind the zeriba at Omdurman...would have been quite a spectacle to witness I'd imagine. More specifically I'd probably choose to stand with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders I think.

Well preferably witnessing the actual surrender or collapse of the opposing army (means I would have survived the fighting:D) , the surrender of Paulus's 6th army , or the Zulu's heading off at Rorke's drift, or standing on the cliff at Dover knowing the Germans had given up on Sealion, and or at the Battle of the Bulge when the german tanks ran out of fuel:)

I think it'd have to be Waterloo for me, as well. No matter how many times I've been there and walked the ground, the imagination just can't quite reproduce what the area must actually have looked like on June 18, in the midst of the fighting. A very, very moving place.

Don't worry though, Ron etc., I guarantee I'd stick to the basic rule of time travel and not intervene in any way - I'd be a strictly impartial observer:D!

Cheers,

Molloy.

I would have to go to the camphain of North Afrika in WW2.

To the time of the Mongols to see if they were as terrible as the legends say. They don't look so tough now.

Battle of Britain fighter pilot
I admire your courage, just I do thiers. That is tempting for me but I would rather a more even fight, as in a Mk 9 over France and later Germany, upgrading of course to a Mk 14 fort the final push;).

AWI - advancing towards the enemy lines in the ranks of the Redcoats (perhaps the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers), with the fifers playing 'British Grenadiers' - well until you get taken apart by grape shot...

Only just noticed this thread.
As a "Pom" I would have to go for watching the action at Rorkes Drift or the Charge of the Light Brigade.

Or just following the career of Flashman !!
Cheers Brett

I'd go back to that moement in WW1 where the British Tommy left a wounded Hitler in a shell hole.;)

Rob

I would like to go back and find out exactly what did happen to Custer at the Little Big Horn.

My thoughts also, only I would like to have some of my current weapons and

a few thousand rounds of ammo.:D
