Hey Mark,

Thanks for your concern, I stayed with a friend for 17 days until the City of Galveston allowed us to return.

Yes, they are 54mm.

How many defenders do you have in the model? It looks liek you are able to replicate the entire garrison.
Well done and thanks for posting

Welcome back Mike, glad to have you back on the forums.

Martyn,

I have 128 24th foot, the recipe calls for 139, I'm a few short.

Now the Zulu's, I've read between 4,000-5,000, ha-ha, what's a guy to do?

I need more Zulus.

Thanks for the compliment,

Michael

And perhaps a bigger house Mike. Can you imagine that........a diorama with 4,000-5,000 toy soldier Zulus    Certainly would be a sight worth seeing :D I say go for it !! :D

Okay, here is the deal Scott.

You and me partner up, you buy, I paint.

Let me know, Michael

Very nicely done Mike. It is nice to hear that your collection made it through the storm. My son is a career officer in the Coast Guard and at one time he was stationed in Galveston. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting with him a couple of times while he was there. We had a wonderful time there and we can not imagine what it must be like now. Again, very nice diorama, very nice indeed.

Mike

Mike,

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear your flood insurance covered everything, and it all turned out O.K. The diorama looks great, as does the battering ram. Great work!:cool:

LOL okay 4,000 @ $2.50 = $10,000...........now let me see.... I am about $9995.00 short :D

Great battering ram also and looking forward to seeing this dio take shape also.

G-r-r--r-r-r-r-r I had my reply all set and it went bye bye:mad::mad: Glad your house made a full recovery. Those look like Frontline

I'd say there are some Hinchcliffe in there too, at least for some of the Zulu's.

Michael,

Glad to have you back and seeing that you're doing better.

Regards,

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the compliment on the dio. I think you had mentioned before that your son was stationed here at one time. Galveston will rebuild. I read a quote in the newspaper the other day about Galveston, but I can't find it right now.

To paraphrase it, it was something like this,

"Galvestonians have had their Island wiped out by Yellow Fever, captured by Pirates, traded back and forth between the Union and Confederacy and flooded by hurricanes several times, they are stubborn, they are a rare quirky breed, they will survive."

People will return. Everyday I see a little more progress. Thanks for your concern.

I have the sand between my toes now forever, I'll never leave.

Good eye Eborris, there are some Hinchcliffe Zulus and a lot of bootleg Hinchcliffe 24th foot infantry too. Those I painted,

Michael

Hello Kilted Vampire, thanks for the well wishes on the house. Great to hear from you. Good eye on the Frontline, they are my favorite pieces and my pride and joy. I use them for the bulk of my firepower and always put them up on the frontline to show them off,

Michael
