imperials back (2 Viewers)

Thanks Drum that wallpaper is older than me .
How do these small pieces of painted metal supply so much
enjoyment ;).
If I could blow up a few plastic tanks and planes with crackers
all would be right in the world of toy soldiers.

Y'know... I had to go back and look. I did not even notice the paper design as I was so fixated on the troops. That is another thing they do for us... distracting the viewer from our interior decorations.

:p

As their seems to be a few tumbleweeds blowing through the imperial
threads I thought I,d post a couple of shots of a set I had been searching
for quite some time [finnaly picked it up 6 months or so ago from a realy
nice collector in the US via ebay]
As a Kid [and now for that matter ] Scots sets where always my favourite,
sometihng to do with the brainwashing from the old man I guess [thiers only so much Jimmy Shand a lad can take :)]
So I was rapt to get this and its one of my favourites.

That's a really nice set!

Njja

Thanks Njja , It was my Holy grail for a couple of years so it made
getting it a real treat [ and the previous owner had enjoyed it for 10 years or so I believe]

Besides the British Hussars, has anymore new figures been introduced in the Napoleonic line? I heard something about French Hussars being in the works, but that was some time ago.

We should be seeing the French Hussars very soon. He has already cast them. Imperial is also doing a special set on a British Fox Hunt. Cowe has some additional ideas and at least one other set cast for the Napoleonics. I have been pitching for some new sets for the Sudan, including some Mahdis on camels. However, I wouldn't expect many releases this year beyond the Fox Hunt and the French Hussars.

Dan

Thanks for the update Dan, looking forward to those French Hussars. I like your idea of some Mahdis on camels. Imperial did a beautiful job on the Guard Camel Corps figures.

Yo Trooper, one great looking set, something about a Scots Pipe band that really gets you. The only thing I dont like about it again is, cannot see the need to put the officers horse on a plate, I mean its not an action pose but just the Regiment marching, have done this many times marching behind the Regimental band & Drum horse, even though we were Cavalry. Did this set come as a 28 piece, must have cost a few dollars. But a great display.
Bernard.

Hi Bernard
They where fairly pricey new [its a 40 piece set so your getting a good
few figures] .Very few imperial horses come on plates , only when they
are raring up as in this set.[I see your point about marching but guess
they made it like that for a bit of variety].
They also do this set as an action set , but i,ve yet to track that one
down .
cheers Rob

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Glad you have it. It is beautiful set.

Thanks KV , I,ve got to admit although my collection is only moderate
compared to some guys here [ its way bigger than I would have initialy
thought when I started back into this madness] I reckon for me its just
about complete as at this point thier isnt realy anything on the must
have list . [that could change of course :D]

Imperial is back -- again. I got an email from Cowe saying the shop is now open again from Wed. to Sunday (10am-3pm). Perhaps we might even see some new sets before Xmas? I'm so glad it was a speedy recovery for David.

Ditto!

Great to hear that he is back on his feet. Here's hoping he is feeling creative and, also, that some of our members can get over their "nostalgia", so we can get on with some new sculpts.

D

Thanks Dan , gives me a good reason to bunk of work early one day and take a trip over the hill .

Really quiet on the Imperial front so I thought I'd post something. What new sets would people like Imperial to make in the coming year (not that David Cowe doesn't have his own ideas)?

Also, if bored, post some pictures of your collection. It is always fun to see what people have and how they display them.

DK

Hi Guys,

I would love to see him revisit the Heritiage Sets with some other regiments. Truly one of my biggest regrets is not getting the Cameron's in action set when I had a chance. These sets are giant so maybe in smaller portions so we could build the bigger set over the course of a year as opposed to all at one time.

I would also love to see some Northwest Frontieer sets done

Anyone else have an idea?

All the best

Dave

That is a Great figure Dave , for my money I,d love to see The scots greys
make an appearance in the Naps range . Or on a local note for the NZ series
Gustavus Von Tempsky who was a very colourfull character who fought and was killed in the NZ land wars
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavus_von_Tempsky.

I spent last night moving my civil war stuff as I,ve slowly managed to add
a few sets [very difficult range to get hold of here] ,with one notable casualty a brand new currasier who I sent to his death on the floor .

Superb: there's the good, the very good, the excellent and...the best
and the best is of course...IMPERIAL.
Congrats on getting such a nice and valued set.

Cheers,
Paulo

Hi all,

I just had a nice conversation with David. He sounds great. We talked US politics and other stuff, including, of course, future Imperial sets. I read him some of the posts you guys did. He mentioned the Scotts Grey. Anyway, it is a bit harder for them to do stuff since it is not a full blown business, but the good news for us is he wants to keep at it. On that note, Rob, he said feel free to post the pictures of the latest Nap sets you picked up.

Dan
