I thought I would post some photos of my main 29 inch by 84 inch display of the "Streets of Old Hong Kong" in honor of the "Year of the Snake" lunar new year. I have posted photos of this display area, but I recently deleted about 6 sets and did some revising of the display especially on the far left side (photos 4 & 5) so as to allow all the sets to be viewed better. Sometimes a bit less is better! So for all the people who will be celebrating the new Chinese Lunar New Year of the Snake at the Forum which starts on 10 February 2013 I hope you may enjoy the 5 photos below.

Very nice display mate and I agree it's nice to see a dio in a non combat or war scenario for a change. I saw an awesome Streets of HK display in the King & Country shop in HK last year and i have to say that you're display is not far away to being as good as that one.

Very nice and alive...I like very much the guys discharging the boat and those carrying the goods :cool:

Gary... Thank you for the early New Year greetings.

Enjoy your diorama display and Streets must be one of K&C's most beautiful ranges. Trying very hard not to get my feet wet in this area but already hooked by Imperial China. {sm2}

Hi Gary,

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post the photographs of your excellent "Streets of Old Hong Kong" display. I think you have one of the best displays of the SOHK range to be seen on the forum. You have keep your collection constantly updated with new sets and merged these with the retired gloss figures. Everything blends in so well to give a highly colourful display which makes for pleasant viewing. Also, thanks very much for your early Lunar New Year wishes, very much appreciated.

Best, Raymond.:)

I want to say thanks very much to all the fellow members from around the world who have posted nice comments on my "In honor of the Year of the Snake" Thread, especially from those people from parts of Asia who indeed celebrate Chinese Lunar New Years. For good measure I am posting a close up photo of the immediate left hand side of the "harbor area" of my SOHK display which I think turned out well.

Hello Raymond:

I want to send you a special thank you message here for passing on to me a few years back now detailed information on the 10 day period of celebrations before any given coming Chinese lunar new year. I have still kept that information and have it filed away amongst my Streets of Old Hong Kong set boxes. I hope the "Year of the Snake" will be a good one for you!

Very best regards, Gary

Hi Gary,

I am very happy that you found my write-up on the Lunar New Year celebration worthy of retention. It took me a few days to write and edit, so I appreciate it. On my side, I have safely kept the CD with the many colourful photographs of your excellent SOHK display that you sent me a few years back. I must add that HK001 is a very precious figure in my collection, in more ways than one. Once again, thank you very much for your kind wishes for the coming Lunar New Year.

Take Care and Best Wishes, Raymond.

Dear Raymond:

Being a fellow collector (well my wife actually) of the matt SOHK, which imho is one of the best (but highly underated) ranges that K&C produce, ^&cool and I would like to say that your collection Gary is one of the nicest on the forum. :wink2:

Jeff :salute::
