In praise of Arnhem (1 Viewer)

Rob...

Surprised at the fact that all of the K&C Tigers to date being early versions that we don't already have one. I hope that we get a proper late production version zimmeritt and steel wheels would be a nice thing to see and, well overdue.

Mind, so much excellent brit stuff from RAF FOBand D-day that should keep us all busy
Mitch

This was my second series right after AE, looking back at Arnhem 44, there are still missing figures that were done than, but not repeated in MG. I think K&C owe a lot to this series as done in matte, put them on the map in a big way, so hopefully they will revisit a few more times yet. Thanks for raising this Rob, might turn out to have some influence on some new information coming forward. Cheers, Robin.

Robin, I did hear some new information at the recent K & C dinner in Brisbane, and it wasn't good for those that are expecting more releases in the current OMG range {sm5}

Looking very hard at this series Rob.......:wink2:

Ludwig

Well worth it Ludwig, splendid range that includes those three excellent Jeeps.

Rob...

Whilst 32 releases are not a small number in the Arnhem range I am still surprised, that a name what many associate with arnhem, and the british stubborn defence of the bridge Frost was not made. There may not be plans to address this is the near future but, Frost is a must to be top of the list when they address this range. At least the range was produced and, more up to date figures were made of what was an epic show of defiance courage and resiliance by the brit para's

I agree Mitch, one way around this for K&C would to release Frost as a club figure as a final gesture to the series. Cheers, Robin.

Gentlemen too many of you are giving up on Operation Market Garden. Like Andy has said most ranges get "a rest" and then come back better than ever, FOB comes to mind. Right now its OMG's turn. I definitely would not write it off as done. To paraphrase Michael Caine in A Bridge Too Far, "it would be bad form to arrive early, in the nick of time will do nicely."

Lets hope the future may bring some more Mitch , its such an enjoyable range from a legendary battle.

This is a very good point. FOB was rested and look at it now, loads of excellent releases. I don't mind at all if Arnhem has a break because I have my hands full with RAF, D Day,FOB and we haven't got to Battle of the Bulge season yet! I hope we may see some more Paras at some point in the future , until then I must concentrate on other fronts.....and we will see Crimea return AND Middle East WW1 Brits!

Rob. I am more excited that the Crimean War series will continue then anything else. It will be worth the wait. The ME line will be also bought by me as well. The WWI desert War area is amongst my favorites in any category.

The British Para no Market Garden thing is sad. I am weighing buying them or not right now....and I think I am going to get them anyway.

Rob...

I am sure there will be at some point but, I suppose all the FOB, D-Day and RAF brits out now can you imagine if there was Arnhem brits also!!! it would swamp brit collectors and, imagine the rattles being thrown because we are focussing on the brits!!!LOL

Would liked to have seen more arnhem sooner rather than later but, its not like its baron for really good brit stuff
Mitch

Think it a shame there no new stuff but with First legion doing D-day let hope they make some British paras instead ^&cool

Hi Rob - Did I miss something here? Crimea to return? I looked through the threads but couldn't find reference to this. Was this announced in Oz or by K&C UK? Thanks!

There were also a significant number of Americans that were part of Operation Market Garden. We have lots of requests for fighting Americans for WW2 and we have very little to offer here at the store.

I think it was announced in Oz Jameson:smile2:

Well with more US Paras on the way that should be just what you need!:smile2:

Rob

Yes there were but, the crucial battles were at Arnhem and thats what the majority remember the battle for. Thats not negating what other units did its just the way it is. Its often the case that one side is addressed more under the banner of a range. when one looks at the d-day series there have been a substantial amount of US para's from both the 82nd and 101st and, on the whole more US releases in that range than others. Look at how long it was before brits turned up in that range. I think from memory D-Day 51 with the likes of the churchill and brit commandoes. Its as easy to say There were more british and commonwealth troops at invasion day on 6th june than Americans.

I guess its swings and roundabouts but, I would say that K&C has done more US figures and AFV's than brit and commonwealth combined over the years.

This is quite true, another example is the fact that there were Brits at the Battle of the Bulge but its remembered mainly as a US battle and as yet we've not had any Brit releases for this Battle . But whatever the facts if you are waiting for US releases they will surely be along sooner or later, all these releases go in cycles.

We are looking forward to it! I saw the post that Andy said he was doing US paras (I want to say 101st?)
Andy hasn't told us anything about it so we are waiting alongside all of you
